toptierweb Posted April 24 Posted April 24 My mac popped up a java update and i clicked ok. Now when I click the launcher it shows the icon on the screen then quits right away. does not load the launcher finder window or anything. Anyone else experience this?
paulbates Posted April 24 Posted April 24 When java is refreshed, you need to re-download the launcher: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Delete existing links/icons first
Techman Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I had the same issue with the current Java update. I had to uninstall Java and re-install, that resolved the problem..

Techman Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I installed the latest version, Version 8 Update 451 (build 1.8.0_451-b10).

Even though thats there the iox launcher gets added to the desktop. if I click that it looks like its gonna start with the UD logo on screen but just quits. Not sure where to go from here.
Solution Techman Posted April 24 Solution Posted April 24 (edited) @toptierweb Did you clear your java cache, checking all 3 boxes, before downloading the IoX Launcher from here: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Edited April 24 by Techman 1
toptierweb Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 I ended up updating my mac OS and rebooting then clearing java cache and redownloading the start.jnlp which seems to have fixed it. But it didnt make my iox launcher shortcut for me.
Techman Posted April 26 Posted April 26 When you run the "start.jnlp" program it will install the IoX Launcher icon on your desktop. If you still don't have the icon then clear your java cache again and run the the start.jnlp program again.

This will put an admin.jnlp file on your desktop. Clicking this shortcut will then be a direct local link right into your Eisy, skipping the whole launcher process. Only works for local connections though. Enter your local username and password. cheers. 2

IOX launcher seems to be permanently broken on my Windows 11 PC. Thanks, DBWaner5! 1
