May 17May 17 I looked around UDI forums and the Insteon forums. Also just put a ticket in with support at both companies. I'm doing an install with dozens of devices and many are the i3 4-button keypad. I recall that these are setup in such a way that the button that controls the load is configurable. However I have found no documentation on how one goes about changing that. I had some devices ship to me where the default (top) button was set to control the load and others where a different button was set to control the load. I don't see that in Eisy/admin console I can configure this. The i3 flags don't seem to have anything to do with which buttons controls the load that I can tell. I'm guessing this might not be something that can be configured through the Eisy at this time. So in lieu of that I'd love to know how to manually switch that. For the keypads where the load is on the non-default button, the admin console does not seem to be aware of that and thus the standard parameters are not available for that button, i.e. level control, on level, ramp rate, etc. Is this just something that is not currently supported in Eisy? i3 device documentation at both UDI and Insteon is fine up to this point that I could tell. If there is greater documentation that I haven't found I would love to be pointed to it. ANSWER/SOLUTION: UDI has not yet added this feature to IOX but may be forthcoming. There is no manual way to do it with button presses. The only way to (currently) do this is with a Hub and the Director app. Edited May 27May 27 by Banichi Marking Solved
May 17May 17 There's been a couple of posts on this. It's possible to set it with the Insteon director app and their hub. I believe UDI has acknowledged the specs have been provided and they have it as a feature in the queue. The Insteon i3 devices have 2 nodes: The standard node with settings for an Insteon device that we're familiar with A "flags" node that has additional features We'd need someone who has upgraded to the latest firmware and has an i3 paddle to see if that feature has been added to either of those nodes. UDI will provide more info in response to the ticket. This is an "out of left field" suggestion if the above doesn't work out; Since you are installing a number of i3 keypads, buy a used hub that supports director and configure the switches for the button you want to control the load, uninstall from the hub, and then proceed to install with the ISY.

I was getting frustrated with the search using "i3 Keypad" not getting me to that thread apparently. Got a little lazy. I figured there had to be a way. I might try and find a used hub 2. Though I have about 20 i3 keypads already in and added to Eisy. I think that the UDI team is hard at work on a new UI so I am hopeful that maybe that will come in that update. I'm currently on 5.9.1 with this install so this functionality is not currently implemented. It's not a terrible burden for me right now but once the homeowners move in I might need to move things around. We shall see. Thanks for your reply.
May 18May 18 One point. The modules also using the HUB will have extra links in them. The eisy will not know of. Technically may have a few quirks in the eisy. Trying it and posting results may aid others. May also help others with a similar situation.

I was suggesting the he use the hub just long enough to reconfigure the active load button in the i3 keypad, and then uninstall/delete it from the hub. Then add it to the eisy and continue as normal from there. There should be no long term need for the hub other than skirting the button assignment problem.

I have been doing this and it works to a point. I can't include that button in scenes where it is a controller/responder and control ramp rate of the scene. Since IoX doesn't have a way to handle the "wired load" assignment it has no way of knowing that the button should have ramp rate options. I know they are working on a totally new interface so I'm hoping that is not too far away so that I can adjust some of these i3 options.
