Cannot get into eisy after upgrade

I did the upgrade from 5.9.3 (don't know what it is on now).
After the upgrade, it said to reboot to complete the upgrade.
After I rebooted it (several times) I cannot get into the Java Console or Poly web interface.  The mobile application cannot connect as well.  I can still get into SSH though, so the eisy is still alive.  The finder says "IoX Finder: Not Found" up in the title bar.  It finds my IoX in the list, (

https://192.168.1.152:8443/desc) but when I click on it nothing happens

How do I fix this?

Have you checked your router DHCP Table to discover what the actual assigned IP address is? You may have to manually insert a new URL if the IP address has changed.

or

Add a fixed IP address assignment to your router's DHCP table and then reboot your eISY.

BTW: Some of these upgrade take about 10-15 minutes to complete the huge song and dance they require, on the polisy anyway.

The IP address is the same.  I use it to SSH into the eisy and that still works.  It is the IoX part that doesn't work.

@Techman
I tried clearing the Java cache and downloaded a new version of the IoX launcher from the link you gave and it works the same.

I find I have to manually install the same URLs every month or two. However the save/restore works well and helps save some hassle.

I have never found the app to find my polisys or my ISY994s, automatically, very successfully .

@TomJ since this is coming following an update process please open a support ticket with UD to have them help troubleshoot the issue. I've not been updating with the eisy-ui being in testing and have not seen others comment about a version as high as you are referencing (5.9.3).

Will you try this local page to get versions: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt

If you can browse to that page locally (if you have an error that it's not safe you can continue through as it is just a local served page) please share the ISY version.

Should be similar to this, but probably a different version:

Quote
************ IoX ************
isy-5.9.1_18
Name : isy
Version : 5.9.1_18
Installed on : Fri Mar 21 18:23:07 2025 EDT

Since you can access the system via ssh then some parts are running. UD might give some commands to restart and clean up some processes that might not have fully completed in an update.

Please open a ticket here: https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets

I tried the https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt link and I got "Unable to connect". I then tried replacing "eisy.local" with the IP address and got the same thing.  I am beginning to think that IoX is not even running on on my eisy device.
The version I spoke of (5.9.3) came from the name of the backup zip file that was created when I did the backup just before the update.

I will open a support ticket and see what they say.
Thanks.

@TomJ please post an update following the support ticket. It sounds like things haven't properly loaded from the boot for the config file to not even be reachable. With there being updates in the works it will probably help UD by reviewing what happened to your system and have a method in place to get you up and running quickly. We don't need the play-by-play of commands (since they might be different for other issues), but at least let us know if there was something that was found to be an issue. Good luck and hope things are up and running quickly!

I cannot get my polisy to upgrade to v5.9.3 at all. I have tried using ISY Portal and IoX many times but nothing ever happens after the time it takes to reboot etc.

Messages are confused saying not to reboot and then flagging me I need to reboot. Java has been upgraded. Old files deleted and new IoX loaded several times but still showing v5.9.1.

Just a thought, being that eisy-ui is only supported by the eisy it's possible that 5.9.3 is not yet available for the polisy

Yeah possible but I thought it wouldn't be offered by the IoX on polisy. However to handle the problem it may look exactly as what happened. Just ignore it. Some flag message would have been nice though.
My guess is you are right on this. The updating module only discovers it, (the mismatch of versions)  after loading and doing it's preliminary testing, and then in a dumb and drastic recovery method, tells you to reboot.
