PG2 to PG3x Plugin License Transfer?

Finishing the upgrade from 994 to eisy.

Can plug in licenses I purchased while running PG2 transfer over to PG3x?  Or were the “perpetual” licenses pertinent to the platform level only?

Next- is there a way to reset password for PG2?  Ran so trouble free on a Pi that I never had to log in and for life of me can’t remember password. More trying today, but if licenses don’t transfer, probably don’t need to bother with the PG2.

Thanks

@cmaciag it's been a while, but I don't think there was ever a method to migrate from PG2 to PG3. I know there was going from PG3 to PG3x that's outlined in the wiki, but not seeing anything for PG2 to PG3/PG3x so don't think it is/was possible.

You might be able to open a support ticket with UD to see if there is anything they can do with this, but I think there's such a huge change from PG2 to PG3x that it's best to buy them specifically for the eisy and install them fresh.

I'm sure there is/was, but it's been so long since I used it and was on Polisy at the time so not sure what the process would be. If you can log into PG2 there might be a menu to change the password. If you never changed the password maybe try admin/admin for the default.

PG2 didn't support any time of licensing/purchasing of node servers.  That capability was one of the major features added by PG3.

If you paid something for a PG2 node server, that would have been between you and the developer and any license would be incompatible with PG3's licensing scheme.

However, I am not aware of any PG2 node servers that weren't free, PG2 had no way to restrict loading and running of node servers.

While some PG2 node servers were ported to PG3 with only minor changes, it's not possible to run PG2 node servers on PG3.  Even for those that were simply converted to run on PG3, you have to install the PG3 version.   The initial migration process from PG2 to PG3, would look at the installed PG2 node server and attempt to pre-install the PG3 version, that only worked in very few cases.
