Recently, a trigger is not working in my Eisy universe. I would double tap an Insteon Dimmer ( 2477D - Dual Band Switchlinc Dimmer v.45) to trigger an event in Homeseer and now it does not work. So, I opened up event viewer, selected level 3. Device communications, did a double tap. and there was no response. But, when I click fast on or fast off on the device page in the MAIN tab, I get the communication event information. How can restore the communication when I physically double tap it? I have tried restoring the device, but that did not work.

Does detecting a single tap work? If you just create a simple program that looks for a control event (on or off) from that switch and do something like increment a variable, does that work? If that doesn't work either, it could be an Insteon signal issue, with the switch itself.

Also, can you turn the switch itself on and off from the admin console?

It does not detect a single tap. Increment a variable did not work. I can control the switch from thew admin console.

I'd try a factory reset on the switch, then adding it back to your system.

If the system isn't receiving a single tap then it's possible the switch is defective. I think there have been other reports of switches failing this way. I think @apostolakisl might have been one in the past to comment that they've had devices fail this way. I think it was around dimmer types.

I recall there had been some discussion when Polisy and eisy were released about them being quicker than the ISY994 and not catching a double tap, but ended up that the device itself might have failed.

Since you can control the switch from admin console and if the switch does power the load it's connected to then I think it's the internal components that don't push the Insteon signal out to the PLM.
