I think that the time has finally come, and I am ready to replace my ISY994 with eisy.
But the availability (lack of it) of ZMATTER dongle is a showstopper for me.

I have mostly Insteon devices, but also few Z-Wave locks, so Z-Wave feature is a must for me.

Any info where it will be available again?

Someone in another thread mentioned that it might not be available anymore, possibly to be replaced by something new? It's still listed as being out of stock, but the listed price has now jumped to $452? Not sure where that's going.

I saw one on eBay a few weeks ago but I can't find it - I suspect you can find one eventually on that site. Just keep looking or set an alert.

Well if you only need zwave, you can then get a Zooz 800 series dongle. The ZMatter device, despite it's name, isn't yet used for Matter. Matter uses wifi, and can do Thread through a border router. I've tested this myself, though Matter is still in alpha testing. The only thing without a ZMatter alternative is zigbee.

I don't use UD products an you more since I switched to Control 4 and radio ra3. However, what there devices are capable of meets or exceeds C4 in many ways- especially once cost is considered. With that out the way, if you believe it's only an insteon controller, you need to do more research.

I have zero interest in matter devices. It's overated and extremely limited. A simple 30 second internet search will show how limited it is compared to eisy.

There are so many other proven technologies without matter hangups that work with UDI devices. When you compare insteon to a matter Wi-Fi switch, you get more flexibility and scalability than any matter switch will probably have in the next 5-10 years. Add in zwave, yolink, or any other supported sensor, you'll have a more capable system than what matter can provide. Granted, the eisy can give matter devices more capability, but then you might as well use supported devices anyway. The power of any system isn't in the devices; it's in the person programming their system

Before I switched over to C4, I had Polisy with hue lights, Harmony remotes, Ra3 switches, ecobee thermostat, Sonos, insteon kpls, zwave/insteon outlets, and zwave sensors controlling every aspect of my home. Because of programming, it was rare that I ever touched anything in my house.

Matter wasnt designed for systems like Eisy. It was designed for basic controllers like Alexa, Siri, & Google home. That's why UDI and HA struggle so much with it. HA is years ahead of UDI when it comes to matter so you can try that (though light years behind UDI on ease of use). You can even connect HA to eisy for even more capability.

Yes, Matter seems aimed at the "shrink wrap" market, where you buy it off the shelf in a store, bring it home, and set it up with a phone app. Meant to work with the consumer products like Alexa, etc. It's still nice to have on a controller like the eisy because it expands the user base who might have started with Alexa and then wants to get more involved control, while preserving his initial investment. It also gives us die hard control freaks more devices we can integrate. Everybody wins.

so the big question since Im not a devopler and more over an old novice anymore it how can I use my ESIY with zebee and zwave. My motin sensor are going and I need to find Outdoor ones. I dont want to have a some kind of extra hub

You can get zwave motion sensors, why not use those? The Zooz 800 series dongle is very affordable and works fine with the eisy. It's only zigbee that's you can't use without the Zmatter dongle.

Did they say it's discontinued or just out of stock? I highly doubt they'd disco it without a replacement in the pipeline. Historically, that's just not how UDI works. Zigbee is overated unless you intend to fully invest in its ecosystem to build a strong network. Ditto for zwave. To be honest, this applies to all worthwhile technology in the HA space.

I beg to differ, at least about zwave. It's well implemented in IoX and is useful for things like locks and a few other safety products. Zigbee is more aimed at low power or battery operated devices, especially sensors. I'm grateful to have it all.

Has UDI told you outright that the ZMatter dongle will no longer be available? If so, I'm eager to see what they'll replace it with. I wouldn't be surprised if they said that implementing Thread (Matter) on it won't happen and that they'd just say to use a border router. But, lets wait and see.

Well UDI has had it's run of bad luck with supply issues. The Polisy got replaced by the eisy because they couldn't get the PC Engines unit anymore. The eisy has had a few periods where it was back ordered. Then they had the import tariff issues, recently the high cost of RAM issue. Now add to that the zmatter dongle (a Z-Wave.me product) that now appears to no longer be available. It's tough when you're not in control of producing your own products.
