Saturday at 02:08 AM4 days I have a keypadlinc that controls a ceiling fan (sends commands to a Fanlinc) that wasn't fully functional lately. But the funny thing, that prompted me to write this post, is that the backlight was blinking in sync with any Insteon signals being sent in the house! Literally, like a signal presence indicator. This afternoon I finally got around to fixing it, by doing a factory reset and then a device restore. That got it back to full functionality, and no more blinking.Anyone ever see this?
Saturday at 11:06 AM3 days Key pads are complex beasties. Mine would have odd behaviors sometimes and I'd have to reset every once in a long while. There was one 8 key that everything worked, other than sometimes the middle 4 buttons would blink in unison. Like 5 - 6 times. I don't think was it following traffic because it should have been doing it a lot more. It was rare and in a place hard to catch it doing it. Not even factory resettle totally made it stop.

I probably could have got a big buck on eBay for the signal analyser but factory reset resolved it.Amazing what CPU based devices can come up with. I had a new Insteon module indicate the opposite status once until I factory reset it. 30% of the responses to newcomer problems with Insteon used to contain the words 'Factory Reset" (after the "but it is brand new!")
Monday at 10:33 AM1 day All the way back the Joe Dada Smarthome Insteon days. New module issues where fixed many times with a factory reset before use. Some did not get reset in manufacture. Many users always did a factory reset before use.
