eisy-ui backup

Featured Replies

Once you've migrated to eisy-ui be sure to create a backup

system .> backup and restore

It's also a good idea to create a backup anytime you've added devices, programs, etc.

@Techman

I am now using Eisy-UI. Prior to that, I was doing the backups listed in the attachment.

Does the one "Create Backup" button in the Eisy-UI replace all but UD Mobile? If so, it's a timesaver.

Thanks,

Ross

Yes, the eisy-ui is backup is a comprehensive backup. The topology feature is not net supported by eisy-ui but will hopefully be included in the near future.

I had not backed up eisy-ui and took your advice. I keep getting an error message. Any advice? My system is up to date.

Neither topology nor programs are currently part of eisy-ui backup. The topology and copy-folder-to-clipboard functions are also not available currently on eisy-ui, rather you must use Admin Console for those functions.

@MWenger

Try doing a poiwer cycle on the eisy. If that doesn't resolve the backup issue then open a support ticket

@wmcneil

The programs should be included in the backup. Topology is not yet supported in eisy-ui, hopefully it will be soon.

Having the Copy folder to Clipboard under programs (and then pasted / saved to a text program) is a critical part my backup and continues to save me, time and time again.

I hope this gets implemented sooner rather than later.

I looked through a backup archive and I could not find the programs anywhere, but I may have missed something. Where are the programs stored in the archive?

Case in point. Weatherflow plugin when moved to Eisy ui, did something so that 18 programs are now "not loaded" and have a blank line. I have no idea what th blank line was.. I will need to open up my text back up of my programs and go thru them one at a time, fix them, save them, and then enable them as they seem to turn disabled when coming out of a Not Loaded state.

@dbwarner5 I had the Not Loaded problem with a few programs. Apparently, EISY-UI didn't like the "/" character in my program names (e.g., On/Off). It also didn't like any program where I called upon the plugin ST-Sonos (which, per another thread, is not working in EISY-UI).

Once I changed "/" to "-" and deleted lines related to ST-Sonos, the programs worked. There may be other reasons why your programs are Not Loaded, but I would look for non-alphanumeric characters and lines that call non-workable (yet) plugins.

I had a lot of iAqualink plugin issues. I just reverted that one back to PG3. I haven't had time to research why I had trouble with that one yet.

I also agree with you that having a text file for my programs is very helpful.

Ross

@Ross So far the migration of plugins has been less than a stellar experience.

I have had to revert back: Notifications, Ratdgo, HUE, TimeData and Elk

Ones that I have not migrated due to known issues: ST inventory, Meross, Matter.

Others that have required some or significant program fixing / intervention: KASA, SUN, WEATHERFLOW, iAqualink

Ones that have worked first try w/o issues: Russound, Holidays, YoLink, Ring, and WebControl
