Upgrading Polisy - I am confused..

Featured Replies

Some weeks back and with help e.g. from this thread I was able to upgrade my Polisy. I have not run into any issues since.
Now I see that there are new versions available. What is the process for updating to those? I have tried via the web interface a few times, including waiting for some 10 minutes in between and reboots. It still shows the old versions. Do I have to use SSH again? If so, what are the steps/commands.
Any help would be greatly appreciated?

you need to update with ssh everytime, the GUI will not update packages for polisy.

I just did latest

Installed packages to be UPGRADED:

eisyui: 1.3.4 -> 1.4.9 [udi]

isy: 6.1.2_3 -> 6.1.2_14 [udi]

pg3x: 3.4.23 -> 3.4.28 [udi]

udx: 5.0.0_4 -> 5.2.0_1 [udi]

Number of packages to be upgraded: 4

Type in:

sudo repo.util staging

then:

sudo pkg upgrade udx isy eisyui pg3x

Instead of looking at blank shell, you can check status in ssh live after it does the intial part:

tail -f /var/log/messages

Also eisy-gui will show the upgrade in progress, please wait

No, with the version you're now at, upgrades from the menu in eisy-ui should work. Not sure why it's not working for you. You could try the ssh method anyway, maybe you'll see why it's failing.

Thanks guys,

I ultimately tried upgrading via ssh
(sudo pkg upgrade udx isy eisyui pg3x
sudo reboot )
a while back and it eventually seems to have worked.

I just now tried again via the gui Upgrade package button and to my surprise this time it appears to have worked that way too.
