xlurkr Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I'd like to see a simple lighting interface to the ISY from HAI panels. You could base it on the HAI Ascii Lighting Protocol (ALP). If you're not familiar with it, it's a very simple protocol that supports a small but useful command set. A specification can be downloaded from the HAI website. It was created to control the Centralite Jetstream RS-232 module but is also intended to be used to bridge between the HAI unit-based lighting paradigm and any other. The software on the ISY would create and manage the mapping between HAI units and Insteon devices and handle updates to device status in both directions. The ISY has all the hardware needed to do this, if port B were used to connect to the HAI panel. An alternative would be to support an IP/RS-232 bridge device like the Elk-IP232. -Tom
Michel Kohanim Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi Tom, We just got our HAI Development kit ... we'll be working on it but, unfortunately so, it has a lower priority than the ELK integration which has taken a long time. With kind regards, Michel
