handyman300 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I have the new MorningLinc and I have connected it to the lock. Pressing the button unlocks and locks the deadbolt. I have v2.8.4 installed on myISY and I have linked the MorningLinc to my ISY. It shows up as xxx-On and xxx-Off. When I select the on or off it shows unlocked or locked but the deadbolt never moves. I have tried to link it a couple of times and the ISY never communicates with the MorningLinc. Help
Michel Kohanim Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hello handyman300, If pressing the set button on MorningLinc (not the remote that comes with the lock) locks/unlocks your lock then please: 1. Remove MorningLinc from ISY 2. Do a factory rest on it 3. Link it back to the lock 4. Add it to ISY making sure you use the THIRD option (add existing links) With kind regards, Michel
CopyRon Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 While linking morninglinc to the ISY, I plugged it in near my computer, while linking I had to hold the set button down during the entire linking process
handyman300 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 I followed your instructions (a few issues that I detail below) and I now have control. Thank you for your help. The few issues are the factory reset did not work as detailed in the manual. The manual said to hold the set bottom on while plugging it in and the light would turn on it would remain lit and then it would flash and then go solid. What happened was that I held the set button down while plugging it in and the light remained off. I then released the button. I then pushed the button holding it down until it flashed several times and then went solid. One other question I have: The ISY 99i creates two entries, xxxx-On and xxx-Off. I cannot tell any difference between them. Both lock and unlock the same way. They seem redundant to each other. Is there any difference between the two ? Mike
Michel Kohanim Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Hi Mike, I am so very glad that you got everything working. The reason you have two nodes is the way they should behave when responders in a scene. For instance, if you put the off in a scene, on commands can unlock and vice versa. If you are not going to use them in any scenes, then they are identical. With kind regards, Michel
