eddyk Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Upgrade seems to be working OK. One (small) thing: After the upgrade, when clicking HELP, ABOUT ISY reports version 2.8.8. I know the upgrade went to 2.8.9 because of the text Sunrise & Sunset is there. Also, when backing up ISY it will save as 2.8.8. Quote
Brian H Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Mine went fine with no problems. I also saw the 2.8.8 in the About Tab and backup I made after the update. Quote
io_guy Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Was I asleep for a very long time - what are the 992i and 994i? Quote
Brian H Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I don't think you where asleep for a long time. First time I ever saw a reference to a 992i or 994i. Quote
TJF1960 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Just upgraded, so far all is good. Odd is I was expecting to see v2.8.8 as others reported but the version in about and the backup I just did shows 2.8.9! Thanks UDI Team! Tim Quote

Odd is I was expecting to see v2.8.8 as others reported but the version in about and the backup I just did shows 2.8.9! Thanks UDI Team! Tim I tried to install again using the same file and it still showed 2.8.8. Then I down-loaded the file again, installed the new file and it shows 2.8.9. Eddy K. Quote
Brian H Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Follow the instructions to the letter and it works. I used the .jnp icon on my desktop and it did not change the about to 2.8.9 Used the https://your.isy.ip.address/admin and it did work. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 Hello all, Thanks so very much for the feedback. For those with 2.8.8, the firmware was NOT installed properly. Please retry (download and reinstall). OR (short for Orchestrator) Series are basically 99i series with specific support for the Utilities (such as Zigbee SEP, Demand Response, etc.). Currently, their only use is in utility pilots and not in production. With kind regards, Michel Quote
Teken Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Feed-back: To Michel Kohanim, and UDI Team, - The scene tests initiates the various scenes instantly. - The label under the dusk to dawn (sunset & sunrise) is perfect! Now the girl friend won't ask me what that means now! - I did not notice the lower left status flag before. But, the busy and ready flag is a great addition. - The new firmware disables the internet function upon loading. Just wanted everyone to be aware of this. Just incase you use it like I do to remotely connect to the ISY, and wonder why you can't now. - I don't know if the new version of this firmware has addressed prolonged login's so as it doesn't log a person off with out notification. But, I will be testing this for the next 5 days to see. I will ensure that any and all power save features are turned off to ensure that the network has not been turned off from sleep, hibernate, etc. As always, these small additions have continued to improve this incredible product which continues to lead the pack in terms of flexability, and power for the end user. Well done, and much thanks from the cold aszz north of the 51st state. Quote
Brian H Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 My error log is now showing many no network connection messages. When I rebooted my DI-604. I generated the message and expected it. While it was rebooting. The error log showed every five seconds it tried the connection again. Is this correct? I also noticed the activity LED for the port the ISY99i is on is almost constantly showing activity. Again is this now normal? Wireshark shows many messages with the source IP of the ISY99i. To an IP 239.255.255.250 Quote
wwat Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Help --> About Should display version number 2.8.9, instead displays version 2.8.8 Quote
hart2hart Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Feed-back: To Michel Kohanim, and UDI Team, - The new firmware disables the internet function upon loading. Just wanted everyone to be aware of this. Just incase you use it like I do to remotely connect to the ISY, and wonder why you can't now. - I've been very busy and have remained with 2.7.15 but have been watching all the great progress. Preparing to update with next "Golden" release. From the post segment quoted above .... Does this mean we will not be able to connect to ISY Consloe via internet ever again or that we must configure for internet access. Regardless, I assume this change will have no impact on products like Conductor (best $7.95 I've ever spent. Hoping for ipdad version someday!) Quote
Teken Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Sorry I should have been more clear. When you load the new firmware the previous selection to enable internet access is turned off. It is not disabled as such where you would not have that feature any longer. Simply go to the top left and select internet access and enable it back. Quote
fitzpatri8 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 After upgrading to RC 5, when I change the local dim level or the ramp rate on a KeypadLinc dimmer the System Busy notification is transparent--the progress bar is missing. Also, the Current Status slider appears intermittently, on screen sometimes and missing others. Quote
apostolakisl Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Two things: 1) I upgraded from 2.8.8 to 2.8.9 and my "about" menu also continued to say 2.8.8 despite the updates being there and despite clearing the java cache. I installed a second time and it fixed it. 2) I believe this happened when I went to 2.8.7, but I lost my ability to use mobile linc pro from outside of my local network. I would get an error stating the ssl failed. I redid my self signed SSL certificate and it looks like it is fixed. I have never had to do that with any past upgrades. Quote

Michel Kohanim Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 Teken, This should not happen. Actually, 2.8.9 tries to enable UPnP port forwarding at least 3 times before it gives up (unlike previous releases). BrianH, No network connection happens in two cases: 1. ISY failed getting/renewing DHCP lease time 2. ISY does not sense a hub (i.e. either cable disconnected or router not available) The activity to 239.x.x.x is UPnP keep-alive and it should happen approximately every 15 to 30 seconds (depending on the load). We also added another feature which senses conflicts in IP address. fitzpatri8, I just tested this case and it works fine. Would you please try it on other devices such as SWL and let me know what you see? With kind regards, Michel Quote
fitzpatri8 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I just retested. If I run the Administrative Console, select a KeypadLinc dimmer, then quit the Administrative Console, then run the Administrative Console again from the desktop icon, after entering User ID and Password, it shows that KeypadLinc again without the Current State slider. (Actually, it shows up momentarily then disappears.) If I choose another device, then switch back to that KeypadLinc, from then on it displays the Current State slider correctly. It also appears that running the Admin Console using the desktop icon after installing the update and clearing the Java cache downloads the wrong version of the Admin Console code--it comes up without the new icons in front of Sunrise and Sunset. The progress bar appeared correctly on SwitchLincs. I'll retest the KeypadLinc Dimmers again later in the day when it won't wake people up. Quote
jdeloach Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 What ports does ISYi99 use for UPnP as my firewall, IPCOP, does not do UPnP. Just wondering what ports I would have to forward. James Quote
fitzpatri8 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Other oddities: I notice that if I expand a scene and select a controller within that scene, the control buttons on the bottom of the window (On, Fast On, Off, Fast Off) don't work. They work if I select the device in the My Lighting section, just not within scenes. Controls for devices that are responder-only members of scenes work, but not controllers. Also, when adjusting scenes, the status flag in the lower left doesn't always track with the status (status turns to busy but flag sometimes stays green.) Quote
Brian H Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I tried to telnet my unit and it worked as expected. Except XS would NOT exit the shell and the only way to disconnect was to use the reboot choice in the shell. Quote
GeorgeRufle Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Just manually updated for the third time. The update process appears to have finished correctly but I too noticed that the revision displayed in "About" still states 2.8.8 . Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 Hello fitzpatri8, I think your client is on an old version. What URL are you using to access your ISY? When you cleared your Java cache, did it remove the icon on your desktop? Hello jdeloach, The only port you have to forward to is your HTTPS port (default is 443 but configurable in Configuration | System tab). Hello BrianH, Bug! Thanks so very much. Hello GeorgeRufle, Please download again. It seems that all these problems stem from our server chopping off half the file. With kind regards, Michel Quote
