boatfevor Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Quick Question, About every 3 min or so, the "MEM" and "ERR" LED light up for about 15 sec on the ISY. Any ideas on why this would be happening?
Michel Kohanim Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Hello boatfevor, MEM/ERR blinking means: network problems the top 4 of which are: 1. ISY's cable is disconnected from the network 2. ISY cannot communicate with the router 3. ISY cannot renew its DHCP lease 4. There's another devices with the same IP address on the network If you have 2.8.10, you can go to Tools | Error Log and review the errors which are pretty descriptive and can tell you what's going on. With kind regards, Michel
boatfevor Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 Okay, did that and what I get is -6100 followed by pool.ntp.org. Under the setting tab I have an "!" in red. I can log in remote to my isy so I assume the unit is able to talk to the web. What should I check next? Thanks!!!!
Brian H Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 ISY could not synchronize the clock with the time server. I get that every once and a while myself. Have you tried to manually update the clock? In the configuration tab System section Try the Synchronize Now Button and see if the red! goes away.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Hi boatfevor, If you have assigned a static IP address for ISY, that could explain why you cannot get to pool.ntp.org. Please make sure the DNS settings for your ISY are correct. Furthermore, if the interval for checking NTP is too low, pool.ntp.org will reject it. With kind regards, Michel
boatfevor Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 I am using the static DNS as this is the only way for me to access my ISY via the iphone. So I am not sure how to make sure the settings are correct. I am also having it sync every 24 hours. I tried the manual adjust and get "NTP server error DNS error"....
Michel Kohanim Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Hello boatfevor, There lies the problem. You are giving ISY a DNS server that your router does not allow you to communicate with. Please try changing the DNS server to be the same as your router's IP address. With kind regards, Michel
