RemoteLinc Button with (!) symbol

Featured Replies

Recently I've been getting a notification from MobiLinc that the ISY cannot communicate with a device - specifically a button on my RemoteLinc. When I open the admin console, the specific button ("All Outside") shows up with a red exclamation point.

Any idea what causes this?

(Running 2.8.12)

Thanks,

I am only theorizing, but how did you add the remotelinc to the ISY? Start Linking? Manual? Is it possible that the ISY thinks this button is something other than a remotelinc?

My understanding is that remotelincs cannot be queried or commanded....they only send commands. The ISY understands these limitations, so the fact that it is trying (and failing) to communicate makes me suspect that the ISY has this device identified as something other than a remotelinc.

Or could it be that the ISY thinks that it must update a link for a scene attached to a remote's button and that is what is pending? I've had that problem before.....

Put the RemoteLinc into linking mode by pressing the Dim/Bright buttons together until the LED starts flashing. Right Click on the RemoteLinc node and select Write Updates to Device. Be sure RemoteLinc is within range of a Dual Band device and the batteries are good. Weak batteries and linking mode can be an issue. Tap the All Off button to end linking when update complete.

EDIT: if there are no pending updates click on Query after doing the right click, being sure the RemoteLinc is still in linking mode.
