Monica Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Hello, I still couldn't access isy99i over internet. I did the port forward on my D-link DI524 router (its a compatible router) using DMZ configs as you said in the e-mail below. When I did it I couldn't find the administrative console anymore using the local IP adress (192.168.0.124) to enable internet access on ISY99i. Then, I disabled the port forward and returned to ISY99i administrative console to enable internet access. When I clicked on it, I received thru a popup the address for internet access (something like https://189.110.33.33) So I turned on again the portforward in my router (using the local IP address). So I accessed the whatsmyip.com to discover whats my ip. With a 3G connection, I tried to connect using the IP I discovered in whatsmyip and the browser couldn't find it. I tried to find the https address that ISY99i gave me to access and it was not found too. But, If I try to access using the computer connected to this router, I can access using the IP assigned to my router. But I couldn't access using the https address ISY99i gaves me. Does anyone know what could be the problem?
oberkc Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I am no expert at this, but I understand that the ISY is pretty good at configuring DLink routers. Mine is a DLink router, and all I did was enable the internet access from the ISY-99 admin console. I thought the ISY did all the router configuration stuff. I did nothing further to the router initially, and was able to access the ISY using the address provided. Make sure you use the "My URL" address when trying to access when on your home network LAN. However, when you are outside your home network, use the address "Internet Access". Both are displayed under Help>about. There is ONE thing I subsequently did from the router....I reserved the IP address for the ISY. I understand that routers can assign different addresses at times such as power failures, so I wanted to be sure to keep this one. Hopefully, you will get a more learned response soon.
