Avonlea22 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I wonder if the search function can be adjusted? When I searched for the term Motion, I got this response: "The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words" How am I supposed to search for answers if the forum software won't even let me search for what I'm looking for?
LeeG Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 The SHN forum works the same way. Try adding some additional words.
Zick Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I agree with Avonlea22, I was trying to see what others have done for creating an "All Off" scene or program so I did a search for "all off scene program" and it told me that all these words are too common. I agree that they are probably too common in a forum like this but it really restricts the search feature. How about when a common word is used in the search tool, that it limits the amount of returns either by dates or thread count so that the search doesn't bog down the system?
Illusion Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 I have mostly given up using the forum search function. Recently I tried to find a post I remembered about restoring a PLM but faced the same issues as other posters when trying to search for the exact phrase "restore PLM". Fortunately google will allow you to restrict your search to a specific URL and still allows all the advanced operators like +*"-. I found the exact post I was looking for in seconds. Just click the advanced link on the Google search page.
