Insteon Message Not Decoded in Event Viewer

Featured Replies

I've got an EZIO8T that seems to turn on relays for some reason that I cannot figure out. A trace from the event viewer is shown below. Relays 2 and 4 get turned on at 03:18:28. There is an "Ack" which would indicate that a command may have been sent to cause this, but I cannot decode the Command bytes. Does anyone have the secret decoder ring?

- "from" device 19.AB.AB is the EZIO8T which is having the problem.

- "to" device 0F.9D.B7 is my PLM.

- "Flags" byte indicates that this is an ACK of a Direct Message with 1 hop left and a max of 2 hops.

And here is a short snippet of the event log just to provide some context:

Are relays actually turning On at 03:18:28? If so which ones?

There is no EE command code for an EZIOxx device so interpretation of cmd2 for relay numbers may not be relevant.

The trace indicates Input 2 turned Off at 03:18:08, then turned On at 03:18:27. Is that what actually happened to Input 2.

Has any configuration of the EZIO8T been done through the SHN Utility?

Wow - that was quick response.

Michel - I no longer have the log file, but I did look at it earlier and it showed both relays turning on consistent with the trace. There was nothing obviously helpful there.

LeeG - Yes, relays 2 and 4 turn on as evidenced by the 19 AB AB 2 and 19 AB AB 4 events in the log

I did find an extraneous record in the EZIO link table and will snap new logs when everything runs tonight.

Thanks,

Spero

I was asking if the outputs actually turned On. The trace entries are evaluating the bits in the cmd2 field of the ACK with an EE cmd1 field. There is no EE command for the EZIOxx family of devices so the cmd2 field may have nothing to do with the status of the output triacs.

Is the EZIO8T running irrigation zones?

Is this trace entry a common occurance?

Does it happen when Input 2 turns On?

Justin at SimpleHomeNet has been helpful. We are going to swap out the EZIO8T's.

Thanks Lee and Michel
