Steigs Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 So after some time using and getting used to my ISY/Insteon setup, I've decided that I would like to rebuild from the ground up. As I've been using it, I've found better ways to do things both through experimentation and constant perusal of this forum. As my system is still relatively simple, my question is this: What would be the best method for resetting everything to 'factory default' to enable rebuilding from scratch? In my particular scenario, this would be much faster and tidier than rewriting all of the existing code. Thanks in advance, Steigs
Michel Kohanim Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Hello Steigs, The best method for factory resetting ISY is [ulr=http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON]outlined here[/url]. You will also have to factory reset your PLM at the minimum and all your devices if necessary. With kind regards, Michel
Hurting2Ride Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 If you're rebuilding from the ground up you most likely will not need to reset your individual devices manually unless you run in to a problem. When you re-add the devices to the ISY, select the option that removes existing links. Chances are unless you were doing something really out of the ordinary before, this will be all you need as far as individual devices go. Of course, be sure to check the ramp rates, on levels, etc when you re-add the devices to make sure they match how you now intend for them to behave.
