Easiest way to program "all lights out" in whole house

Featured Replies

Should I make a scene or program to do this? One switch a controller, and every light a responder? Or write a program? It is a pretty tedious process to copy all 70 lights to a scene or make a program line for every light though...

Hello starmanj,

It's best to have a scene. Programs for individual devices are going to take a lot of time and cause major network traffic.

Alternatively - and IF AND ONLY IF - you just want to turn everything off, you might want to use the All Off. To do this, in your program choose My Lighting (or whatever you have renamed it to) and then choose Fast Off.

WARNING: it has been reported that some thermostat versions respond to ALL OFF in an unexplained manner. So, you have to make sure your thermostats (if any) are not impacted.

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for the help. So to do this, I just choose a button as controller and drag all lights in the house to that scene as a responder?

Thanks
