New ISY User - Did I get a defective unit?

Featured Replies

I've been a die-hard X10 user until recently I discovered the wonders of INSTEON and decided to switch to that. The ISY was my first purchase and I quickly got it set up and recognized by any computers on my network. However, two issues I've encountered:

1) I've never seen the "QueryAll" program that the manual says should be there

2) I've registered my product and have yet to find a way to get into the firmware upgrade page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've tried to search the forums for these issues but no luck.

Thanks!

What firmware version idoes yours have on it. Perhaps it was shipped with the latest, v. 2.6. This version info can be found in the About window,

Hello arjnur,

Is this an open box/refurbished unit by any chance?

You can always add back a program to query My Lighting at any given time. Please let me know if you'd like more instructions.

With kind regards,

Michel

I got a brand new unit from Smarthome.

I'm not sure what firmware it is...

I'd love instructions or the code to put back the Query program.

Welcome to the ISY Arjun,

I'm not sure why you don't have the 3 AM query, but here it is:

If
       Time is 3:00:00AM

Then
       Set Scene 'My Lights' Query

Else
  - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

You can view the Firmware version using the menu item Help/About.

Are we all missing something here? Mine never had that "queery" either. Should every ISY have it put back in? What will it do long run for me? Thanks.

Your choice, it just adds a layer of extra accuracy buy updating the ISYs status of all your devices. Most of the time the ISY is correct so this is just a nice to have program, not required.

aLf,

Yours was an upgrade to 2.6 and thus the name might not be QueryAll ... please look for Shedule 1 and rename it.

With kind regards,

Michel
