williammanda Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I'm have been researching the ISY-99i and would like to discuss the HA application I see happening. I would also appreciate present user input on the setup. The setup: ISY-99i - I won't be needing the IR capability and I am looking at 30 - 50 devices. Network module - seems to be needed for tablet, phone interfacing but I would like to know the full extent of it's capabilities. Android tablet - I like the Asus Slider but would like to hear from existing users. Android Phone Android Interface software - I see that there are 3 or 4 possibilities but seem to favor the MobiLinc and Conductor for Android. Again I would like to get existing user feedback. Nokia N810 - I currently have one but not sold on the software cost. Insteon devices - I have: Thermostat T8100, 2466DW ToggleLinc, AP, PLM 2412S.
oberkc Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I don't have the network interface and use on android smartphone. I use conductor app. Have never used Mobilinc, so I cannot compare, but my impression from reading other's thoughts are favorable.
sanders2222 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I use the IR version which works for my home theater remote. It gives me another option to set room lighting scenes with one remote in my hand (I don't have to dig out my PC or iphone). My understanding is the Network Module is needed in order to provide remote control (from the ISY) to my whole house audio distribution system. I nice feature indeed. Don't have anything to offer on Android platform as I don't have any. Lastly, I assume you are referring to a Venstar T-1800 thermostat. Just make sure you have the latest adapter (v 2.2 or higher).

You do NOT need the Network Module for Mobile communications unless you want to use TouchSwitch. Insteon devices - I have: Thermostat T8100, 2466DW ToggleLinc, AP, PLM 2412S. And a Power Supply!
