Cannot Remove Device

I am using an ISY-26 with 45 registered devices, 5 of which are keypadlincs. After installing and registering an Insteon 2486D keypadlinc dimmer switch, I could not get it to progaram all of the buttons. I removed the switch and installed a brand new one and got the same result. When I tried to remove the original switch from the program, I got a failure. I then renamed the switch and tried to remove it again, still received a failure. I have the second switch installed and it operates correctly, but I cannot program the buttons. How can I elininate a device that is not responding correctly? When I attempt to remove the device it goes through 3 passes and on the 4th pass, at about 85%, I get a failure.

LarryF,

I am so very sorry to hear about these problems you are having. In order to remove your KPL, please make sure:

1. It's plugged in

2. You can communicate with it (if not, factory reset your KPL and retry)

3. Please choose DBG 2 (telnet to your ISY) and then check the Java console to see what is failing

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Frank,

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, the installation is about 125 miles away and I only get there once a month (next week). I have some of the older switches that I am not using and they are 1.4. The KPL that is in place is brand new, but will check when I get there.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for getting back to me. If I understand you correctly, the KPL must be physically installed in order to remove it from the programming. I will try this next week and let you know. I'm afraid I don't know what "DBG 2" is or where it is at. A little help on that would be appreciated.
