Baypointe Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I have an ISY 99ir pro in my own house for about approximately 5 years (I think it has been that long). I am selling my parents house and I am installing insteon switches in the house to solve some poor switch locations and wiring problems. The question I have is should I take my old ISY and put it in the house I am selling as I can then upgrade to the latest version. I am not sure if the original ISYs are an old work horses or the new ones have better longevity. I know they will function the same but it does reset the life clock to zero. If I don’t put the new one in should I at least switch out the PLM so I can get the new duel band version. My system has hundred of switches and scenes. I have been wanting to flog my older switches that I can't turn off the led's for awhile. I also have a few purchased plug ins. Can I port them over to the new ISY? Thanks Jim
Michel Kohanim Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Hi Jim! The question I have is should I take my old ISY and put it in the house I am selling as I can then upgrade to the latest version. I am not sure if the original ISYs are an old work horses or the new ones have better longevity. I know they will function the same but it does reset the life clock to zero. Personally, I would only leave it in the old house if and only if it could add value to the house (increase the sales price). If I don’t put the new one in should I at least switch out the PLM so I can get the new duel band version. Yes, make sure it's version 99 or above My system has hundred of switches and scenes. I have been wanting to flog my older switches that I can't turn off the led's for awhile. This shouldn't be a problem I also have a few purchased plug ins. Can I port them over to the new ISY? Yes you can but then we would have to remove it from the old one. In short, the price is per unit and not per customer With kind regards, Michel

Yes, make sure it's version 99 or above Sorry for the off topic question... Michel, why >= v99? I have a dual band in my system right now running v92. Just wondering if there are issues I should be concerned about.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Hello io_guy, There was an issue with 98 (I am not sure how far back the issue was introduced) whereby some of the link records in the PLM were set to 0000s. The outcome was that no status would be forthcoming from the PLM. With kind regards, Michel
