scobeyr Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Hello, I hope someone can answer a few questions. Is the ISY994i series, and the ISY994iZ series, based on the same hardware? if so, can the ISY994i be later upgraded to the ISY994iZ? If I had a Zigbee enabled ISY994i or ISY994iZ device, would I be able to communicate with a custom-built Audrino-based device with an XBee radio? The description for the ISY994i indicates "An expansion slot which could be utilized to install and support other communications protocols such as a Zigbee radio". What is currently available, that can be installed, that would allow me to communicate with a Zigbee device? Thank you!
Michel Kohanim Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hello scobeyr, Comments below. With kind regards, Michel Hello, I hope someone can answer a few questions. Is the ISY994i series, and the ISY994iZ series, based on the same hardware? if so, can the ISY994i be later upgraded to the ISY994iZ? Yes and Yes. If I had a Zigbee enabled ISY994i or ISY994iZ device, would I be able to communicate with a custom-built Audrino-based device with an XBee radio? ISY is a very strongly typed device. You cannot communicate with any device that ISY does NOT know about (i.e. ISY need a driver for devices to which it communicates) The description for the ISY994i indicates "An expansion slot which could be utilized to install and support other communications protocols such as a Zigbee radio". What is currently available, that can be installed, that would allow me to communicate with a Zigbee device? -Zigbee PRO radio allows you to communicate with RCS devices, Brultech ECM1240, our own energy monitor. -Zigbee SEP (waiting for certification) communicates with Smart Meters
