synchrolinc and appletv

I am trying to configure my synchrolinc via my isy 99i. When i try to "set options" under "my lighting" the system busy progress bar appears ~3 times and then i get a dialog box that says "request failed". one of the times that i tried this, i got a dialog box that said "subscriber didn't reply to event".

there doesn't really seem to be anything at all in the event viewer, log or error log.

i'd like to configure my synchrolinc via my isy 99i because the calibration button on the synchrolinc doesn't seem sensitive enough to work with the the apple tv.

i was getting these errors with firmware v3.1.7 and i have tried upgrading to firmware v3.2.2(beta).

i am pretty new to isy and to insteon so any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Did you have the Event Viewer in #3 Device Communications Events?

ahhh. now i see how that works. and no, i didn't have it in #3.

I have attached the Event View log in level three from when i attempted to "set options". the dialog box i got this time said: "subscriber didn't reply to event".

Thanks for the updated Event Viewer file.

Is the module a new one? I see I2 messages was sent but the reply from the module was a standard message.

Maybe Michel or LeeG can decode the data as I have never seen a 0115 Press, 02AA Press or [ IR] message before.

What does the Admin Console show for the firmware level of the SynchroLinc? v.??

The device is not responding with Extended response to the Extended request.

What is being used to couple the 120V legs? Pluggable SignaLincs perhaps with black external antenna?

Brian. the Extended 2E command is the normal I2 Extended Set/Get. Not unique to I2CS.

Model number is 2423a5 (http://www.smarthome.com/2423A5/Synchro ... ler/p.aspx)

Synchrolinc firmware is v.0E

As for this questions: "What is being used to couple the 120V legs? Pluggable SignaLincs perhaps with black external antenna?"

Here is my best shot at an answer:

I am not coupling the phases at all. According to my electrician, i have two phases. Again, according to my electrician, the 20 SwitchLincs (http://www.smarthome.com/2477D/SwitchLi ... ite/p.aspx) I have installed have been on both phases and I have had no problems so far.

I kinda though that because the switches are dual band i wouldn't need to couple the phases. Is that right or do i need to get something like this?:

or two of these:

thanks everybody for all of your help so far.

Does Help | About show 3.2.2 for both the Firmware line and the UI line?

How long ago was the SynchroLinc acquired?

After going to 3.2.2 was the SynchroLinc Deleted and added back under 3.2.2.

I had a feeling it was I2. As I think I have seen in the Communications Logs I2CS if that was the messaging protocol used.

Thanks Michael. I just sent you an email.

Hello jamesddelaney,

I am so very sorry to hear this. I have a SynchroLinc v.82 right in front of me and I have tried every possible permutation to make it fail with no success.

The only thing we can do at this point is request SmartHome to send us their latest firmware (0E) and see if we can figure out the root cause.

Again, sincere apologies.

With kind regards,

Michel
