This happened before 2.8.8 occasionally, but it seems to be more frequent now. Also, most times that I log into the java admin console, the status is "System Busy" (these are probably related).

Any thoughts?

A program that is constantly triggering or a link issue or clear java cache?

I backed up, downloaded 2.7.8 upgrade, installed it, and cleared JAVA Cache. The ISY will not respond to any of the prescribed connection methods and is not listed in the Network.

I can see it has an ip address via the router and the PLM flashes a few times at startup.

HELP!

UPDATE: I did a factory reset and that would let me get to Console and it showed 2.7.8. I restored my configuration and when complete the ISY did not respond.

I did another factory reset, installed 2.7.7 firmware, and restored my configuration and it appears to be working again. Shows MY Lighting in Network.

The only thing that comes to mind is that I have pulled(physically removed) the old tstat adapters (but have not deleted from ISY) and was going to install new ones(physically and in ISY) after 2.7.8 was running. Curiosity got the best of me so I reinstalled old tstat adapters and repeated process -- got same results. ISY is not "active" after update with my configuration installed.

I will not take any addtional steps until I hear from the experts!

Thanks

Already fixed but, as a work around for now, please try not to cancel that dialog!

Thanks, Michel. Will do. I thought that closing the browser and clearing the cache was overkill. Glad you found the issue.

Hi All, another collective reply!

elvisimprsntr and others

I am in utter disbelief as to why tstat nodes should be considered bugs? Do we consider KPL secondary buttons bugs? How about motion sensor low bat and dusk/dawn nodes? How about IOLinc relay vs. sensor nodes? The concept is precisely and 100% the same, it is not a bug, and shall not be addressed nor discussed again unless there is a bug in the functionality. Thank you for understanding.

wwat

Hi wwat, thanks so very much. Which tooltip are you referring to?

jason|99

This happens when the Admin Console cannot be reached by ISY. Please do ensure that you have cleared your Java cache, and you are using the 2.7.8 URLs (not 2.7.7).

Apologies for the inconvenience. Please note that 2.7.8 does a migration on all configuration files for all the INSTEON devices as such, at the first boot, it might take a long time for the boot to complete. So, would you be kind enough to:

1. Disable query on startup

2. Upgrade to 2.7.8

3. Look at the status of the LEDs ... if you see quick blinking MEM lights, this means that ISY is migrating and you should let the process continue

4. If you have a serial port on your computer, it would be great if you could connect via Hyperterminal and let us know what you see

With kind regards,

Michel

Sometimes when I click "Add" on Email/Notifications, it won't let you create a recipient because all the buttons are grayed out except "Ok" and "Cancel". If you select an email type in the drop down box, it won't let you click "Add". I think this is why I ended up clicking "Cancel" and getting the cancel flag stuck. The first 2 went very smoothly, but the 3rd one wouldn't let me add until I closed the Admin Console and re-opened it.

CJVann,

Known bug: if you click the cancel button on the email editor dialog, then you will have to close/reopen the admin console to be able to add again.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi rlebel,

Do you have the same issue if you use http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.8/admin.jnlp? If not, I must suspect that:

a. Either 2.7.8 was not installed correctly on your ISY OR

b. Java cache has not been cleared

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel, using the above link I Removed the email address I had set with the PC. I then Saved and attempted to add an email address. When I clicked on the "n/a" the resulting popup did not have an Add button. I did not clear the Java cache.

If you drag the Add/Edit/Remove window out to the right you will see the Add button.

However, on my Mac I cannot add addresses either unless....

In the Add/Edit/Remove dialog, after adding the entry and typing in your email (or other) address you MUST hit return. If you click OK before hitting return, the address just appears as "Enter your full email address here@domain.com". You shouldn't HAVE to hit return, but even if the intf requires that, "Enter your full email address here@domain.com" shouldn't be a valid address so it shouldn't let you do this.

Michel:

I completed steps as you suggested and..

1. After the reboot, lights flashed for a minute and then mem light did not flash or even flicker -- waited 30 minutes

2. Via Hyperterminal the following message was repeating at this point:

Thanks Tome, that worked perfectly! I guess UDI has some fine tuning to do on that pop up.

I just upgraded to 2.7.9. I've used the batch mode to add 3 v2 thermostats and all went well. The issue of adding two IRLinc discrete (on and off) devices to a scene from a few weeks ago appears to be resolved.

For your information: I added the v2 thermostats as suggested and they were fine. I then used the replace function to replace an existing v1 thermostat with the v2 version- It deleted the newly added 4 items and only the thermostat proper remained. In addition, all programs (regardless of if they referenced thermostat) were deleted in the process. I reverted back to 2.7.7 and repeated the upgrade process to correct. This time I used manual method to replace old with new thermostat and all is working

I upgraded to 2.7.9. I'm using isy99/ir/pro.

I wanted to replace a couple devices and I right-clicked on a device and I can't find the replace device with... context menu anymore.

I tried to move the device out of folder, but it still won't come back. I have cleared my java cache a couple times, but I can't locate the replace device feature.

Is it gone or am I really that blind. :-)

Thanks,

Michael

I had a desktop icon for the Admin Console. I used the icon when I upgraded from 2.7.7 to 2.7.9, and then after upgrading, the icon would do nothing when I clicked on it.

I tried deleting it and re-isntalling 2.7.9 (with the zip file on my desktop), but it did not recreate the icon.

Michel:

I've had great success with 2.7.9 -- thanks to you and your staff. However, while adding IRLinc devices, I discovered I was not holding the key on the remote long enough and the device would get added but it is not responsive to future button presses. Can these "bad" devices be removed without having to start over with the IRLinc. At this point, removing one IRLinc device deletes them all. Not Sure if I'm missing a feature or making a feature request?

Again Thanks,

Paul

Thanks. Currently, I've moved them to a folder so they don't accidently get selected for scenes and to keep clutter down. Not a big deal but it would be good to get rid of them if possible. Would their slots in the IRLinc be opened to learn other IR commands and create links?

Hi Paul,

I do not think so unless you have unlinked them from your PLM.

With kind regards,

Michel

So to be clear, what I'm asking for would be an unlink "IRLinc Device" from the PLM?

Hi Paul, yes. In short, you would have to unlink them manually then the same nodes should be able to be linked again and reused.

I have added a request to remove individual nodes from such devices.

Michel

Hi,

I successfully upgrade from 2.7.7 to 2.7.9 and was happy to be able to add an EzSnsRF (with two sensors) without issue. Thank you.

I have two Icon Switch Dimmers (2876DB) and previously had to add them to the ISY as another type of Icon Dimmer, since the 2876DB was not supported yet. With 2.7.9 I was able to add them as the correct type (2876DB) but noticed in a program there’s no longer the option to set the on level (only on or off). Is this a known issue? Should I be able to set the on level as a percentage?

Thanks.
