hi, i know this may not be the right place to ask, but has anyone ever had an issue with an inline dimmer making a light just flash on/off? i have it in a scene with a switch for controlling it from my wall. if i turn the light off, it stops blinking. if i turn it on, it just flashes again. any help is appreciated.

thanks

the last thing i did before this happened was i used a new remote control to send a hallway light on signal to a irlinc reciever. this worked. the hallway light is the one with the inline.

Hello flemingmike,

By any chance do you have any KeypadLincs version 2A or 2D?

With kind regards,

Michel

stupid question... how do i tell?

Click on the Primary KeypadLinc node in the My Lighting tree. The second line of information displayed in the right pane shows the firmware level v.??. If it displays v.00 the KeypadLinc was not added using Auto Discover.

i have v.39 and v.40

Hi flemingmike,

Thank you. This rules out controller issues ... the only other possible scenario - based on our history - is that perhaps the load for your inlinelinc is too high. Or, it could be a defective inlinelinc.

What's the frequency of on/off cycles?

With kind regards,

Michel

Regular incandescent bulbs being used?

The InLineLinc Dimmer isn't powered through another switch is it?

I had something similar happen with a particular brand of CFL bulbs.

it turned out to be a defective dimmer.
