Hi,

 

I was curious what i could do with the new ISY & Zigbee? I am looking to keep my ISY in the basement, would the zigbee devices work properly at a distance? I know the dual band ISY makes the powerline or RF options for good communications. Does the Zigbee work the same way or is it network based?

 

 

What cool Zigbee things are out there that work with the ISY?

Hi Rich,

 

Currently the Zigbee version only supports:

RCS Zigbee Thermostats

Brultech ECM1240

UDI EM3 3 Phase Energy Monitors

 

The Zigbee version was specifically designed for commercial venues where 3 phase might cause problems. As such, I do not think it would provide you with anything above and beyond 994i series. Furthermore, you can always upgrade later to the Zigbee version (a daughter board with Zigbee radio).

I have to ask. Do you have SEP 1.1 certification yet? Can I read my Smart Meter?

So what is the difference between the:

 

ISY99IR

ISY994IR

 

If i have an ISY, is it worth upgrading?

Hi Rich,

 

Currently, they are functionally identical. 994 has more code memory for future enhancements + an expansion slot that can be used for Zigbee OR ZWave.

So if you purchase a Isy994 with zigbee, can you add zwave?
