remedy1234 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Hello Everyone, I am try to linc a 240 Volt NO controller to ISY and I am having a problem.It will show the device and status when turn on/off manually but ISY says it cannot communicate when I try to control it from the ISY.I have one right beside it working fine.Only difference that I can see is that the older one is version .00 and the new one is version .41.Any help? Thanks Tim
LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The one with v.00 was added to the ISY by selecting the specific device type in the Device Type field. The one with v.41 was added to the ISY with Auto Discover. If this is a very new 2477SA1 it could be an I2CS device which requires 3.2.6. Run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer with Level 3 selected. Turn it On/Off with the ISY and post the event trace.

LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The trace of turning the Load Controller On/Off locally indicates link records are not correct. This is another indication of a possible I2CS device. Either trace the ISY turning the Load Controller On/Off or do a Show Device Links Table and Compare the results. I am assuming the ISY is not on 3.2.6 or the Load Controller was not added to the ISY under 3.2.6. If running 3.2.6, with the Event Viewer running with Level 3 selected, right click the load controller node and select Diagnostics | Query Insteon Engine. Post the trace from the Query Insteon Engine.
remedy1234 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 The ISY is on 3.2.6 Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [All ] Writing 1 bytes to devices Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 1A C6 EE 0F 0D 00 Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 1A.C6.EE 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 1A.C6.EE 19.70.C5 2B 0D 02 (02) Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][1A.C6.EE-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 05/23/2012 05:23:13 PM : [1A C6 EE 0 ] Calibrating engine version
LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 The Load Controller is an I2CS device. If it was not added to the ISY under 3.2.6, delete the device and add it back under 3.2.6. Any Scene that was created with the load controller should be done under 3.2.6 to pick up the I2Cs support. If it was added under 3.2.6 run Show Device Links Table and Compare. The first trace of the manual cycle of the load controller indicates a link record problem in the load controller.
remedy1234 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Ok your going to have to slow down abit I'm alittle slow. Show a device links table and compareCompare it to what?The first trace of the manual cycle of the load controller indicates a link record problem in the load controller.I do not know what I am looking for and if there is a problem with the link controller what do I do? Thanks Lee Tim
LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Right click the Load Controller node. Select Diagnostics | Show Device Links Table. When the display is complete the Compare button at the bottom of the popup window will go from gray to active. Click the Compare button. Another popup will display with the link records the ISY thinks should be there and the original popup will have annotations for each link record found indicating a match, mismatch, and so on. If the Compare shows a problem then it depends on whether the load controller was added to the ISY under 3.2.6. If not added to the ISY under 3.2.6, Delete the device and add it back under 3.2.6. If the load controller was added to the ISY under 3.2.6, right click the load controller node and select Restore Device to have the ISY rewrite the load controller link database.
remedy1234 Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 It was added after 3.2.6.I added it deleted it several times reset PLM did a count 417 consistant sent that one back to smarthomes last week.The second one came today and I still have the same problem.Did I tell you that I It was added after 3.2.6
LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 What does the Show Device Links Table - Compare result indicate?
Illusion Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 417 links in the PLM could be a concern. Please report the PLM version number.
LeeG Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 remedy1234 Illusion's query about the PLM is a great question. The 417 is the maximum for an older 2412 PLM.
remedy1234 Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 Hi Lee, There is one link record when I click compare.It states Identical in the original on the first link.There are five other links in the original four stating extra record and one that states ignore. My PLM is a 2413S. Thanks Tim
LeeG Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Please run the trace request from my first post Run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer with Level 3 selected. Turn it On/Off with the ISY and post the event trace.
remedy1234 Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 Hi Lee, I did a factory reset on PLM.I seems to be working fine now. Always Thanks again for all your help! Thanks Tim
