C Martin Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Smart Home / Insteon has 2 new devices. One light Bulb and a new Switchlinc for 2-wire installations (Old Homes). When do you anticipate support for these? Clarence
Michel Kohanim Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi Clarence, The SwitchLinc should be supported in the next beta. Light bulb, I really do not know as we have not been given any development information on it. With kind regards, Michel
C Martin Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks for the reply Michel. The New 2 wire Switchlinc is probably the most important item for now. I just found out about the light bulb and I still haven't decided its value to me. You need to have either a remotelinc or some other insteon device in order to take advantage of the light bulb. I would rather just use a dimming LED bulb with the same switchlinc or remotelinc. By the way ; Can you give us an idea of what is on the immediate, near and far term list of coming new tools for the ISY? Clarence
Michel Kohanim Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hi Clarence, The most immediate release is mostly fixes to support I2CS devices. We still haven't agreed upon the contents of the future releases. With kind regards, Michel
Brian H Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Michel; If you have access to the Developers Groups Code area. I was shocked to actually see the LED Bulbs Developers Notes released on the same day as the product itself.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Hi BrianH, Yes, I do ... thanks so very much for the link! With kind regards, Michel
Brian H Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Take a look at the maximum ramp rate that can be set. I can see users setting it to the longest delay and thinking it is dead.
Teken Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Take a look at the maximum ramp rate that can be set. I can see users setting it to the longest delay and thinking it is dead. Is it still 8 minutes? Teken . . .
Brian H Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 No much longer if the chart in the release notes is correct.
