raderu Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Hello....i have ISY-99i....pretty much new user.....using Kaspersky Firewall on my PC.....tried to set up in Kaspersky settings so it will recognize this unit and would not block any of it content: input ip address in it web setting menu.....but recently noticed it was blocked by kaspersky again.....checked the settings: now ISY-99i has different IP address...does ISY change IP addresses? What is my solution for this? Thanks
LeeG Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Unless you configured the ISY for a static IP it is using the router DHCP to get the IP address. If the IP address changes it is the router doing it. The Router can be configured for a static IP. The Wiki has some instructions if that is not a familiar process. The ISY configuration also has to change to define the static IP rather than use DHCP.
GregE Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 You should be able to use the MAC address of the ISY to tell your DHCP to always give it the same IP address. Really, if you leave your ISY on, once it gets an IP address it shouldn't change since it would just renew it. Although if your router looses power then it could get a different address.
raderu Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Greg.....i am new at this....can you walk me thru how to "use the MAC address of the ISY to tell your DHCP to always give it the same IP address"
Michel Kohanim Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Hello raderu, Please do be kind enough to call our tech support to schedule a remote session. We'll walk you through the setup. As far as MAC address, you must look for "DHCP Reservation" for your router. With kind regards, Michel
