jmed999 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I'm having more communication issues. Check out the error log below. The Hops left is 2 witch is good so what is going on? What does, "Received an ACK for a different device" mean? Thanks!
Michel Kohanim Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Hello jmed999, Do you have communication errors with the device for which you have those messages? What you see on your event viewer is not accurate. RF devices, they send the same message more than once and, in some cases, ISY prints (for a different device) incorrectly. With kind regards, Michel
jmed999 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Hello jmed999, Do you have communication errors with the device for which you have those messages? What you see on your event viewer is not accurate. RF devices, they send the same message more than once and, in some cases, ISY prints (for a different device) incorrectly. With kind regards, Michel I do have communication issues with some devices that have these errors. Not sure I understand you second thought.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 jmed99, I meant that those errors you see in the event viewer might actually mean: got two ACKs for the same device. Are these RF/dual band devices? With kind regards, Michel
jmed999 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 I have been getting this a lot over the last couple days for several devices that was working great. I'm also getting, "Process Message: Ignored". The devices that give me these messages are both dual band (RF) and non dual band.
jmed999 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Also, some of the devices that give me this error are only reading 1 Hops left and those devoces have consistantly given me hope left = 2 for a long time. It's like I lost a hop somewhere.
jmed999 Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Any ideas? I think all my devices are getting these errors. Some of the devices have been saying 2 Hops left since I put them in....no errors. Now they say Hops left =1 and I'm getting the Process Message Ignored and ACK errors all the time. I have not added any new electronic equipment so not sure what to do. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!!!
Michel Kohanim Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Hello jmed999, Apologies for tardy reply. Ignored messages are completely benign and acceptable (ISY is just letting you know that the device sent the same message twice which is always the case for RF/dual band devices). And, I would not worry about the Ack error. What I would worry about is that you have only one hop left between messages. This indicates that the signals keep hopping between devices and never reach their destination. The main questions are: 1. How many phases do you have? 2. Are you certain that the phases are bridged properly? 3. How big is your venue and how many devices in total do you have on each phase? With kind regards, Michel
