Store Current State of Switchlinc Dimmer in Variable

Featured Replies

Is there a way to store the current state of a switchlinc dimmer to a variable? Also, is there a way to set a switchlinc dimmer to a variable?

I use my switchlinc dimmers for notifications, so ideally I would like to capture the current state (off, on, or %on), notify via a flash off/on or on/off depending on the original state, then return the switchlinc dimmer to its original state (off, on, or %on).

No to both at this time. With many Programs the current On Level could be tested for a specific On Level value (If Status 'xxxxx' is 85%) and set a variable accordingly. With ranges (5%-10% or 10%-20%) the number of Programs could be reduced if absolute values were not necessary.

Excellent - so there is a work around here. I hadn't thought to use "status >=1% AND status < 10%", etc. to specify ranges and save a variable to the current value in that way. I should be able to minimize the #/programs required based on these boundaries - so it's a welcome recommendation. Thank you!
