DADsHome Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I currently have a ISY994iZ/IR PRO and would like to know how to upgrade it to a ZS. I would also like to know how to determine if I have a Smart Meter and what is the process to get my ISY 'Provisioned' by my power company. Thank you, Dennis
Michel Kohanim Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Hi Dennis, Unfortunately it's not an upgrade but a replacement: you will have to replace the Zigbee radio to a Smart Grid Zigbee radio. Who's your utility? Each utility has different procedures for provisioning a HAN device. With kind regards, Michel
DADsHome Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 Thank you Michel for the response, What is the cost of exchanging the radio? My Utility is WE Energies (SE Wisconsin). Thanks, Dennis
Michel Kohanim Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Hello Dennis, My pleasure. Before doing so, I strongly suggest that you contact your utility and ensure that they would indeed allow you to communicate with their meter. The cost is about $100.00 but you would also have to take into consideration the shipping costs. Please consult with our sales department (sales@universal-devices.com). With kind regards, Michel
DADsHome Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Thank you Michel, I contacted the Utility Co. and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about. They did give me the number of the third party Co. that gathers the information. I contacted them and they need to know what you/I need to have from them to be able to monitor my meter. I have sent an note to sales to determine the exchange details. Thanks, Dennis
Michel Kohanim Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Hi Dennis, Thank you. You can always have the 3rd party company contact us and we'll figure it out. It really would be a huge waste of your time/money if we can figure out how to exchange information. With kind regards, Michel
