Michel Kohanim Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 Hello steadler, thanks so very much for the update and I am so very glad you got things working. Hi Wozzy, I think it would be best to contact our tech support team and have them schedule a call to help diagnose. With kind regards, Michel Quote
golfleep Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Upgraded to 3.3.4 thinking that my ISY99 would now be able to support the new insteon leak sensor (2852-222). No problems with the upgrade process, and everything is working normally. However, I'm unable to add the leak sensor to the ISY. When I attempt to do so, the ISY states it "cannot determine the insteon device type" Is the leak sensor not fully supported yet? I have Rev1.05 of the leak sensor, if that makes a difference. Quote
LeeG Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 golfleep Check Help | About, verify both Firmware and UI show 3.3.4. The Leak Sensor is listed in the Device Type pulldown on 3.3.4. The UI (Admin Console) may not be at 3.3.4 Could also be out of RF range. If Help | About shows 3.3.4 for UI, run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer with Level 3 selected. Use New INSTEON Device, enter Insteon Address, Name of choice and leave Device Type set to default Auto Discover. Be sure Leak Sensor is in linking mode (awake) before clicking OK. Post trace. Quote

wuench Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I just installed to Switchlinc Dual Band Dimmers (2477D) and neither is discoverable by the ISY. The device versions are 6.6 and 6.7. No idea what firmware that is. I tried, Automatic, Device Reported, and I1 Only. The log is below, looks like there are ACKs, does that mean the devices are talking back?. I have been having a LOT of trouble lately adding new devices. It seems like all of them are responding in the Event Viewer but the ISY is ignoring the responses. All my other devices I was finally able to add through multiple retries and rebooting the ISY. This time no luck... LeeG Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 wuench Set the Advanced Options back to Automatic. These are I2CS devices which should be added using Automatic. You are having Insteon mesh network problems as indicated by the comment that multiple attempts are needed to get devices added and the fact that these two Dual Band SwitchLincs are not responding at all to the commands sent. Double check the Insteon address being used. Use New INSTEON Device, enter Insteon Address, Name of choice, and leave Device Type set to Auto Discover. The event trace shows no device response (no 02 50 or 02 51 messages) to the command that was tried three times. Since multiple devices (including the ones that have eventually added) have problems look for something common such as interference from other devices at the PLM plug point. Other electronic devices, UPS, etc (even possibly noisy CFLs) should be on a FilterLinc. The PLM should be plugged directly into an outlet, no surge/noise suppressor power strip. Insure the Access Points (or whatever is being used for phase coupling) passes the 4 tap Set button test for being in RF range and on opposite 120v legs. Quote
wuench Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Yeah, thanks. Looks like noise issues, then. I unplugged my PLM and plugged it back in and was able to add one device. Unplugged a powerstrip in a nearby room and was able to add the other. I gotta say, in my experience, dual band is a BS gimmick. I have almost completed my dual band conversion and should have complete coverage now. But my network is now less reliable, especially since switching to a dual band PLM. I thought adding more devices would give me better coverage, but things are getting worse. My old V1 single band network was way more reliable... Quote
Brian H Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 First time I had tried a Scene test on all my modules with 3.3.4 and also the first time I go a 100% failed response? I think the scene test may have a problem? Greg Quote
Brian H Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Now that it was mentioned. I am not sure if I had used the Scene Tests in the last few releases. Quote
LeeG Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 I don't know when it started but the Scene Test is now reporting Failed when the Report from the PLM showed it worked. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 Hi All, Thank you. It must be a bug with Scene Test. With kind regards, Michel Quote
andyf0 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I'm still having drag'n drop problems on my Mac with Java 1.7. It seems it's one line off. If I create a new scene it goes to the bottom of the list. If I want to drag and drop it into a folder I have to drag and drop it one line above the folder. You can see if I try to drag it to the folder the green + sign doesn't appear when I hover over the folder name but the + appears when I go one line higher. Release and it drops into the folder below. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Hi Andy, Is this only for folders or do you have the same issue with drag/drop into scenes (you can make the window smaller to test)? With kind regards, Michel Quote
andyf0 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Michel, Drag and drop into scenes also. Need to drop in the line above the scene name to add it. Quote
johncrab Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 In preparation for the new official release, I checked my Java and upgraded to V7. With 3.2.6 I am seeing a remarkable improvement in speed of loading and smoothness of the ISY interface. It's really noticeable, so I imagine with the new official release it will be even better.
