beachfront71 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Hi and thanks. Forgot username / password so I reset the ISY .. (hold pin down for 5 seconds, etc.) When I pull up the user panel and put in admin admin and log in .. I then change the user and pass to my prefered choice.. Then.. I upload an old settings file to restore all my settings but it seems to keep uploading the old usernam and password so it locks me out again ... Am I doing something wrong here/>? THanks
Michel Kohanim Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Hello beachfront71, Yes, your backup includes your userid/password and thus every time you restore it, you will get your old userid/password. What you might want to do instead of doing a factory reset, is to reset your password. The process is the same (press/hold reset button) but the duration is about 10 seconds: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... d/Password With kind regards, Michel
DualBandAid Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 What you might want to do instead of doing a factory reset, is to reset your password. The process is the same (press/hold reset button) but the duration is about 10 seconds: 1) Just to confirm...a factory reset is 5 seconds...but just a password reset is 10 seconds? I ask because that seems a little backwards to me. I would have thought the "less-destructive" reset was the shorter duration. 2) Also, to confuse matters even more, the link you provided for a password reset mentions 5 seconds, not 10 (for a 99i). I have forgotten my password (which is amazing to me, considering how many times I've logged in...but oh well) and don't want to inadvertently reset my ISY.
Michel Kohanim Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Hi DualBandAid, Factory reset is 30 seconds. The best thing to do would be to look at the pattern of lights and make sure they do what it says in the instructions. With kind regards, Michel
DualBandAid Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Thank you. I was just going off this... Forgot username / password so I reset the ISY .. (hold pin down for 5 seconds, etc.) ...and assumed the 5 second number for a factory reset was accurate info. Oops.
