mitch236
I am trouble shooting a MobiLinc issue and part of that meant checking the port settings on my 2Wire (ATT) router. When I follow the directions in the Wiki it is recommended to check with an outside source for a guide to setting up the ports. However, it is recommended to open not only https port (443) but also port 80. Is it necessary to open both ports on the router to operate properly? One of the problems I'm having is that when I try to access my ISY remotely from a PC I cannot use https I have to use http which can't be right. Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
mitch236, No, you should never open port 80; that's completely insecure. Are you sure port 443 is not forwarded to something else in your house? With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
mitch236
I've checked the interface for the 2wire and the ISY is the only computer with port forwarding activated. Just for clarification, the type of traffic is TCP, is that correct? Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hello mitch236, Yes, only TCP. It's quite possible that the router has reserved port 443 for itself? With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
