Hi all,

 

I am considering upgrading from my SmartLinc to the ISY. Currently, I use the SmartLinc for on off timers of certain devices, but am looking for more advanced control. I have ordered the Insteon Hub but it is backorderd. Questions I have include:

 

Is there an app for the ISY similar to what SmartLinc has out of the box?

How difficult is it to setup the ISY for control outside my LAN?

There is Mobilinc which is an excellent app, much better than Smartlinc's.

 

If you know how to setup port forwarding in your router it's not difficult at all to setup the ISY for remote access.

Excellent. Thanks for the information. I have downloaded MobileLinc Lite and will give it a try with my SmartLinc.

The Mobilinc Connect subscription is $29. or so a year, of about 2.50 a month. That way you don't have to open up the ports on your router. The other night, while out to Red Robin for dinner, I turned off all the lights in the house the kids left on..
