ZigBee Door Locks

I have seen in previous posts that you have not been able to get the API for the Kwikset locks. I would guess that Schlage probably won't give theirs out because it looks like there trying to sell a monthly service. Have you checked on the Yale locks?

Mr. Moore,

No, we have not yet.

This said, ZWave door locks should work.

With kind regards,

Michel

I do not have ZWave. I have Insteon and ZigBee. I have also heard the ZWave is not very dependable. I know that I can add a ZWave interface to my Elk system, but if you are eventually going to support the ZigBee locks, I would rather not add ZWave.

Mr. Moore,

Our development plan is mostly a function of demand and then ROI. We do not have that much demand for Zigbee door locks yet.

With kind regards,

Michel

Who has Zigbee door locks? They really do a poor job of advertising this stuff. Walking the local homedepot you see a few "zwave" locks but they don't advertise that they are compatible. they want their proprietary service sold instead.

.

My wife has expressed some interest in knowing WHO opened the door when and getting a notification.

Michel,

I understand your development plans.

FYI

Yale will be releasing ZigBee HA1.2 radio locks in Q2 2013. They will also be providing an SDK at that time.

Mr. Moore,

That would be QUITE a welcome event!

With kind regards,

Michel
