ISY994

A long time ago, I had converted an 8 button KPL to a six button KPL. I removed it from the house it was in and reinstalled it in my new home. I started having trouble with it and decided to do a factory reset (forgetting that it was once an 8 button device) which obviously changed it back to an 8 button device. I am wondering if there is a way to convert it back to a 6 button using the ISY or do I have to convert it back using the manual linking mode ? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have 1 program setup to run a series of lights when we are away. These are programmed with varying on and off times with sunset etc. These work ok when physically pressing the kpl. 2 lights are setup to be active when the away button is not pressed to act as normally on plugs. When the kpl is pressed they shutoff and the program will turn them on and off. I made a scene with the kpl button in it to activate the program if we are out and cannot get home in time, or we forgot to turn the kpl on when we left. When i turn the scene on from pressing the kpl physically these lights turn off as they should, and are ready for their on command later in the evening. if i turn …

Is there an open/close sensor that would work for outdoor use? I would like to install one on the side gate of our house so it would need to be somewhat weather resistant.

I have a scene with two members. one is an insteon dimmer switch and the other is an insteon keypad button. I can manually dim the scene to dim from the Admin console by using the dim button. Is there a rest command I can send to set the scene to a specific brightness? If so please show me the format as in /rest/node/<sceneID>/DON/128. I know that /rest/node/<sceneID>/DIM will dim it every time it is sent, but I am looking for a way that would set the intensity level to a specific value as in dealing with a plain dimmer switch.

I am a bit confused status vs condition for the If statement. These switches are not in any scenes. On/off bath fan switch. Would like to program if fan is on, wait 15 min turn it off. control is on, fast on, fade up vs status is responding or status is not off. I have it working with status is not off. just curious if this is right. Also have a dimmer in the bathroom and would like to program: if light is on , wait 15 min turn it off. not sure which is the preferred method. control is on, fast on, fade up vs status is responding. or again status is not off. thanks!

I am trying to setup multiple keypadlinc devices to control the same set of scenes. I have configured button A to control sceneA on both keypadlincs and have configured button C to control sceneC on both keypadlincs. I have grouped buttons A and C to be mutually exclusive on both keypadlincs. Finally, I have configured the on levels of both keypadlincs button C to off when either button A is pressed. Have a 2450 (v2.3) I/O Linc. My ultimate objective is to trigger the I/O Linc output ON for 20 seconds when triggered. The trigger source is an infrared beam sensor, giving a closed contact when the beam is broken. This is used as a stairway light - step on the first step to break the beam and the lights (12v) embedded in the wall come on for a period of time. I recently had a PLM die. The typical capacitor failure most likely (have parts on order to fix). Anyway, I bought a new PLM to replace it and plugged it in today and did a "Restore Modem". When the PLM died I was alerted to the issue because my garage door was reported to be up at night (I have a program that checks it). The door wasn't up and the sensor light on the IOLinc was off (which is door down) and that eventually lead me to the dead PLM. I have 2 motion sensors in our kitchen... (2 for visibility). There are 2 - 3way switches linked together that control the light. The sensors are not linked to the switches nor in any scene with switches, only a single program. I have created a -30m before sunset and -30m after sunrise (next day) to control the kitchen switches(light). This all works great... the switch controls light correctly, the motion senses and turns on the light during the evening times, etc... Here's my question. When leaving the room, sometimes I press the off switch ( weird, I was taught this growing up )... But the motion will catch me leaving the room and turn the light back …

I just got a few lamplincs yesterday and I was going to link them with the ISY. I put the ISY into linking mode and then did the same with the first lamplinc. I registered the lamplinc and put it in the list. I clicked finish and it was doing it's normal thing. Part way through the process it returned a "Could not determine Insteon Engine" error. I thought that maybe I was having some comm issues at that location so I moved to a new location, closer to another insteon device and an AP. Same result. I had an IO Linc and garage door sensor kit that had been working fine. We moved into a new house and took it with us. We factory reset our ISY and have been setting up our dimmers and switches without any issues. I installed the IO Linc and sensor yesterday. When I first started to link it to my ISY everything seemed fine. I was able to setup the device and use the admin console to control the device. The next time I logged in through the admin panel I got "Cannot communicate with.....Sensor. Please check connections. I tried removing the device and relinking it. I got the same error. What would the expected result be when this program runs? Both buttons on the keypad are on but the status in the admin console shows off. The admin console will come out-of-sync with the buttons on occasion. How can I get the real current status of these buttons if the program below does not return the correct (actual) status. I can cycle the buttons and then the status in the admin console will show on. I really have two issues (well more than that with the reliability of running the irrigation system) 1) The admin console or ISY losing the status (or coming out-of-sync) of these buttons. 2) The inability to 'reset' or 're-sync' the actual status of these butt…

Since in the EU the ISY994i can't work with INSTEON, I was suggested to use Z-Wave instead. However, it seems that the "Z" module won't work with EU devices. Is it correct?

I am new to mobilinc and so far really like it, but am having an issue with how geofence works. I set up a geofence that tells the ISY that I am away from home, which turns on cameras and does some other stuff. Then when I return home, it turns the cameras and other programs off. This works great except when I left home one day and my iPhone battery died. Arriving home obviously didn't trigger the "arriving home" program and after the iPhone charges up "inside the geofence", it doesn't trigger either. So the cameras and other programs stay on as if I wasn't home. Is there a quick fix for this situation?

I really big into home automation and really want to setup my house in a certain way. I currently use an iPhone to control Philips Hue bulbs in my house two insteon switches and my sonos speakers. I was thinking about getting an ISY994i to install into my system. I was wondering if their was a way in the ISY to make Insteon switches kind dummy switches. Like they will not switch load off or on ( i always want it on) They will trigger an action in the isy to run a scene or program. So when you hit the on button on insteon switch it will send a http request to the philips hue lights to turn on and to a certain scene rather than switch the circuit on or off. Also is there a …

Dear all, I've contacted the Kawikset manufacturer and they let me know they offer the electronic deadbolt with two protocols. Zwave and Zigbee. Since the ISY994iZ/IR PRO is not compatible with Zwave, I have to make sure it will be compatible with the Zigbee protocol used on Kwikset 910TRL. I have contacted Roomie, but the reply wasn't on point. I will respond to that email and keep my fingers crossed, but I don't think they have much experience with the ISY. My Various activities have Insteon buttons in the remote screens. However the Roomie is not sending out any Insteon commands from the previously working buttons (worked in January of this year). It’s as if the “Program run then” command has been removed from Roomie. Almost all of my Roomie Remote buttons execute the Insteon “Program run then” command. I have a Isy99i (recently ordered a isy994i) running firmware 3.3.10, and EzFlora v28. I'm really struggling with this device. I used "add an Insteon device" and I got 8 different Irrigation zones (which was good). The first sign of trouble is when I select a zone and send the "ON" command it will not turn on. It takes multiple tries of "ON" then "OFF" commands on a zone before it finally changes state It goes without saying that my Irrigation Program (which turns on each zone on in sequence) does not work either.

Haven't done much all summer with my ISY and I can't believe I'm this rusty... I've created a scene with an On/Off module (closing and opening my N/O main water shutoff valve) and a leak sensor-wet. Added the leak sensor as a controller and the On/Off module as a responder. When I hit the set button once on the leak sensor, it sets the leak sensor as wet-on and the On/Off module goes on. When I hit the set button again on the leak sensor, it sets the leak sensor as wet-off but the On/Off module stays on. I would like for the On/Off module to follow the leak sensor wet conditions. I know I can do this using a program, but was hoping I could do it with a scen…
