ISY 994i v.4.2.18 I've added an Open/Close Sensor 2843-222. It registers as a (2421) Trigger Linc v4.0 Is this right?

I have older installations with ISY99s and ISY touchscreens, if update to ISY994i will the touchscreens work?

  3. I have two switchlinc 2477Ds in a single gang box. I noticed when I turn on or off the Nook light switch, the Living Room switch's LED moves quickly up or down depending on whether the Nook light was turned on/off (to match it), I checked every scene and in no scene does the Living Room switch have a ramp rate of less than 4.5 seconds so I don;t know why the Living Room SL LED moves fast ever. I actually deleted the Living Room SL device entirely in the ISY UI and the same symptoms with the LED persist. Note that the Living Room light never responds when using the Nook switch, even though the Nook switch causes the Living Room light LED to move in tandem. Also, th…

I wanted to run my idea by people to get thoughts on my project. I want to use a FanLinc and a 6 Button KeyPadLinc. I want to be able to turn the light and fan on independently, as well as use the scene buttons to do a 50% and 100% light level, and 50% 100% fan speed. Does anyone else do anything similar?

Can I use a KPL button to trigger a non dimming item such as LED spotlights (non dimming) and the Insteon 2635-222 ON/OFF Module? I know the KPL buttons dim or brighten when you hold them pressed so I'm unclear if this is possible Drew

  6. I want to set up a button on a 6-button control to turn on a circuit at 6:30 the next morning and then not do it again unless I press the button again. I tried this: And it does not do anything.

How many of you use Tasker to trigger things in your ISY? I have Tasker turn on and off our "Away" program when we come and go from the house and I have it turn on and off the "Sleep" program at night when we go to bed. What are you doing with Tasker and your ISY?

Is there a way to add a Zwave device as a controller in a scene or have it just work? I have a Yale Zwave front door lock. I tried putting it in a scene and it: goes in as a responder; and doesn't do anything with either on or off command.

  9. Hello, Following the documentation on the wiki, I created my first program. When I tell the admin interface to save the program I get a Bad Request error followed by Discovering Nodes, Retry! error and the program doesn't save. The program is: If On Mon, Tue From Subset To 3:00:00AM (next day) Then Set 'Patio / Patio Light' On Else Set 'Patio / Patio Light' Off Any thoughts as to why I am getting this error? Thank you Dale btw, is there any way to copy the code from the admin interface vs. having to re-type it?

Hello, Just received an ISY994i Pro and Insteon serial PLM. Sad to see such a lack of installation information with these two products. I have plugged the PLM into its own outlet, plugged the Ethernet cable from the PLM to port A of the ISY and plugged the other Ethernet cable into the network port of the ISY and into my router. I have updated java on my machine (windows 8.1) to the latest version. Per the document on the wiki I have tried accessing the ISY using the following links: http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i and have downloaded the applet at: http://isy.universal-designs.com/9941/admin.jnlp Neither process can find the ISY. I g…

  11. System has been working fine for quite some time. recently added a couple of new switchlincs (dual band) that worked great. Went to try and add my hallway lights (Older 2476D switchlincs) to a scene (one is a slave switch with no local load), but the green icon showing that there are updates waiting to be written never goes away. Tried right clicking the and forcing updates, but the green icon remains. Decided to play with another switch to see if these switches went bad, I tried adding one of my known working switches to a scene, but ran into the same problem. Decided to delete the device and re-add it. When trying to add it, I get the error "Cannot determine In…

The comparison value when reading my PG&E meter seems to be off by a factor of ten. In the example below, the flag (integer variable) changes value when the demand moves above or below one kilowatt, not ten kilowatts. PGE Meter, Read - [iD 007E][Parent 007B] If Module 'Utility - Meter' Instantaneous Demand >= 10 KW Then $i.eny.gt.kW = 1 Else $i.eny.gt.kW = 0 Craig

I am trying to create an "Insteon compatible motion light" out of 1) an Insteon On/Off 2442-222 module and 2) a RAB STL360 motion light The motion sensor output goes to 110V when motion is detected and back to 0V after a delay of a few seconds (its settable in the motion sensor, I've set it to the minimum). I've connected the sensor output to the On/Off module "sense wire" (the yellow one; the purple one is not connected to anything). The light is connected to the line output of the On/Off module. I would like motion to turn on the light, and the ISY to turn off the light after a delay that depends on the time of day. Questions: 1) How do I configure "op…

  14. Just received my ISY994zwPro/IR today and added a motion detector so far. It's listed under ISY 3 times with the same name. I tried removing it and adding it again, same thing. If I click on ISY - it also shows all 3, but only one of them as an "On" as current state. Is it normal for this device or others to be listed multiple times?

I had searched through posts about several peoples EZFlora watering programs when I wanted to set up my own but in the end didn’t find anyone that had done anything that I wanted. So I borrowed ideas from some of the posts I found and added to it. Now that I’ve got it up and running and pretty well tested I thought I’d share it with you. I won’t post the details as if no one cares then I’d save myself a lot of time in writing. However if you’re interested let me know and I can try to explain how I did it. Premise: Do not water X numbers of days a week but rather water dependent upon temperature. Several days of weather over 90 degrees, water 3 times a week, weat…

The ISY becomes inaccessible in a few minutes. If I reboot I can access again. What can be wrong? It's a customers house and I probably had to reboot ten times in two hours I was there. Now I can't access again.

  17. I am having trouble creating a resource for powering on/off my KD 4x4 Matrix Switcher. Can anyone help me with how to setup and format the command in the resource. attached are some particulars from the KD manual. Also, I am using a Global Cache Itach IP2SL to transmit the command via the ISY. I have setup the IP2SL with the following parameters. Baud rate: 57,600 Data Bits: 8 Parity: None Stop Bits: 1 Flow Control: None Carriage Return: Required Following is the network resource that I have created. TCP 192.168.1.16 Port = 4999 timeout = 500 ms C-Escaped Body = PF\r\n Actual = PF The error in the ISY log is as follow: [TCP-Conn] -1/-140002, Net M…

I'm new to programming the ISY-994i, but I have 40 years or programming experience. Yet and I'm really struggling with a few ISY programming concepts. I'm trying to run this simple program to turn on my porch light when the motion sensor detects motion, but to only do so between sunset and sunrise. My problem: The light turns on when motion is detected, regardless of the time of day. I only want the program to work between sunset and sunrise. Here are the programs used: ------------------------------------------------------------ Rear Porch Light Status - [iD 0003][Parent 0001] If Status 'Rear Porch Motion Sensor-Sens' is On And Status 'Re…

Is it technically feasible/possible for an ISY to control a device on another ISY? For example, could a door sensor on one ISY control an I/O Linc on another ISY?

We lost power at about 830 last night and our generac generator kicked in. I don't have the entire house on, but pretty much all of tMy insteon gear is and functioned flawlessly. Programs triggered as expected. Isy is on a ups, plm is not. When power was restored the chandelier for the stair which is not on back up came on at 90%, the prior state. I have 3 scenes for this light with different on levels that are triggered by programs throughout the day. I do not have this set up with adjust scene. When power was restored at 330am I would have wanted the on level to be 30%, not 90%. Is there a way to set something up with is/ is not responding to get the isy to know …

I'm planning to purchase the Insteon/ISY994i/Pro ZWave w/ IR device. So far I have an open/close door sensor, single light switch, and Serial PLM. My first HA project is to turn the hallway light on when the front door open/close sensor detects an "open" and its between sunset/morning hours. The light then shuts off after a set period of time (5 minutes). The activity is then logged to a database to keep a record of the "open" and "close". I have done programming in HTML, PHP, MySQL before, so the logic of doing the task seems pretty straightforward. However, how does that translate into programming the ISY? 1) Adding the devices 2) Setting up the "scene"…

Is it possible to reverse a FanLinc? I don't see anything directly in the ISY. If not, is there a way to use a micro switch perhaps?

I have an isy994 and am very happy. However for my vacation home I do not need such sophistication and was looking at the insteon hub. First off any opinions? Second, before I bring the hub to my vacation home can I test it out at home, meaning will an isy and a hub coexist on the same home HA network without any conflict or problems? Thx much Joe

I have three Venstar thermostats in my home. All three have the Insteon Venstar Adapters attached to them. In the past I have had a situation where my hvac units where failing causing the temperature on the thermostat to rise higher which made the AC unit run non stop. I would like to put a protect program in the isy to have the TStats turn off if the AC if temperature in the home reaches a certain point in the summer. Below is my attempt at this programming. Am I on the right track with programming? Is there anything that you could add/subtract? If Status 'First Floor Thermostat' > Mode Cool And Status 'First Floor Thermostat' &gt…
