Hi, I have a driveway alarm & I was thinking of seeing if I can get the triggerlinc working with it. Ideally, i would like an email sent to me when the alarm goes off. I see it has a relay, its a little hard to see in my photo. It has the following (from left to right): 12vac, system common, 12v dc, earth ground, 18v dc, NO, Common, NC, FLC, Shield, black, red I would like the triggerlinc, to normally report that it is off, when a car goes over, the triggerlinc should tell me that its on, when the car goes off the alarm, it goes back to off. What would be the right way to wire it? Thanks, Rich

I've got a HVAC unit controlled by a multizone controller -- in my case a main living area zone and a master bedroom zone. The main living area thermostat has a humidity sensor and controls large central humidifier. When humidity is needed the thermostat signals the humidifier to turn on and turns the fan on for that zone. The humidfier runs almost full time during cold weather so I turn fan mode of master bedroom thermostat to On. This method ensures humidified air is sent to both zones of unit. However, during late fall and late winter, the humidifer runs alot less. Finally decided to program so master bedroom fan is only set to On mode when humidifier is ru…

I have ISY 994I and I am on firmware 3.3.6 beta. Mobil Linc was working and has stopped working on my IPhone a few day ago. I use DHCP with a fixed address. I created a firewall rule for port 443 but I did not know of that was UDP or TCP, what should I use? I made that WAN to LAN and I target the fixed IP address of the ISY 994I. If I reboot it is fixed for a time and then stop working. Does the error 170001 mean web module out of space. What does that mean? I get this in the error log Mon 2012/12/24 08:47:59 PM System -5012 27 Mon 2012/12/24 08:48:19 PM System -10011 n/a Mon 2012/12/24 08:48:19 PM System -10011 n/a Mon 2012/12/24 08:58:26 PM System -170001 …

Happy Holidays! I'm looiking for a thermometer/humidity that I can mount outside and send the info to my ISY. I can hook it up to 110 v power. Is there anything out there to do this? I would like to set up a program to turn on my gutter heaters automatically if tem/humidity hit critical thresholds.

I want to have an "indicator" LED on a Keypadlinc in the master bedroom. It should show if any light in the house is left on (by being lit). I have read how to do this by using a nested IF statement for each light in the "all lights" scene. However I have hundreds of switches, is there an easier way to say: "If any light status is "on", then turn on keypadlinc B." When I go to Network in the admin panel it shows a list of all switches and their current state. Why can't I use this? (The next questions would be is there a way I can do a negative IF to ignore certain lights i might not want to follow?). Thanks for any help... I am hoping there is a functio…

I have a 2456D3 Lamplinc which was working ok, until it was not. Now when plugged in the LED just flashes on about once a second. Trying factory reset does nothing, can't connect to it from anything, holding the set button turns off the LED, then when released the LED goes solid for a moment, then goes back to flashing once per second. Anything else I can try?

I am trying to find a way to receive an alert whenever power is lost to my refrigerator-freezer and/or when the inside temperature drops below a certain level. My concern is that a long electrical outage would start a meltdown in the freezer section which would lead to water leakage onto the wooden flooring in the kitchen. Conversely, I would want to know when power is restored. I am not enthused about the SH Freezer Failure Sensor as it requires a wire to run from the inside of the freezer between the frame and door gasket. I would like to avoid any compromise to the integrity of the door seal. No matter how low the risk. I am using a ISY 99.

Question regarding which program is least labor intensive for the ISY, based on say 50 or 100 of these programs running at the same time. I have a mix of both programs and am looking to clean up and standardize my programming and am looking for the least labor intensive method. Prgm: Program 1 If $Var_1 is 1 Then Wait 20 Minutes Run Program 'Program 1' (Else Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Prgm: Program 2 If From Last Run Time for 'Program 1' To Last Run Time for 'Program 1' + 20 minutes (same day) Then - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Else - No Actions - (To add one, …

I have a very simple program set to run when a scene elsewhere is switched off, but it doesn't run as I would expect and I cannot figure out why. It's simply this; If Switch x is turned off Then Set 'Master Suite Bedside Lamp' On wait 2 minutes Set 'Master Suite Bedside Lamp' Off So if I try to run the 'Then' from the console when the Status is False, it switches the lamp on, then exits. If I then re-run the Then (light is now on), status is still False, andvthe program runs, does the wait and then turns it off. Am I doing something dumb? Why it need to run twice to work? Why does it not do the Wait first time round?

Not too personally familiar with fixing wiki's and links, but the forum thread link below is incorrect: ISY-99i/ISY-26 INSTEON:Programs as Variables: SwitchLinc Emulates Countdown Timer This tutorial was posted on our forums by user rob9. I generated a set of programs to generate a countdown timer with a switchlinc relay. I know that there is a Switchlinc Relay Countdown Timer that can be purchased, but I already had a regular switchlinc relay installed and by using the ISY to program it, you have lots of control on exactly how to make the timer work.

I searched and couldn't find anything so I hope this hasn't been asked before. This one is for the UDI people... How long is the ISY-99 series of products going to be available / supported? When I see things (features) being removed from the 99 and certain features only being added to the 994 I can't help but begin to wonder. I understand that this is the world we live in now with technology and don't want this thread to be negative so lets not turn this in to a slam fest. Universal Devices still is an excellent company with an excellent product and has excellent support. That being said, what makes the 994 a "better" product other than the flexible wireles…

Hey All, I just created a program called Morning Trail. I am always the first one up in the morning. If I push button B on my KPL it lights the way from the bedroom down into the kitchen and out to the garage. I have a wait statement that then shuts the scene back off after 30 minutes. How do I add an OR to the program. The OR statement would be that OR IF I fastoff the garage light it shuts the whole scene back down. That way the lights don't stay on the entire 30 minutes if I hit the garage light button quickly on my way out the door in the morning. Is this even possible? Thanks!

Hi, I just purchased an ISY 994i/IR Pro and about a dozen Insteon dual band dimmers. I have the dimmers installed and hooked up the ISY, and at first things seemed to go fine. I was able to control my devices, programs ran as expected, etc. But twice now after several hours, the devices seem to become non-responsive to the ISY. I can't seem to turn devices on or off through the admin panel, and while programs seem to run and write to the log, the devices don't respond. The first time this happened, I eventually couldn't even get the ISY to show my devices in the admin panel after a while. I did a factory reset, and started from scratch, and everything was working …

Hi, I am using a #2420M motion sensor to the ISY. It is a Rev 1.1 unit. I goto new insteon device, put the address, name, then scroll down to the end for the motion sensor. I hit add & I get this message: The following devices could not be added: xx.xx.xx (2420M-SP) Insteon Motion sensor v.00 - Cannot determine Insteon Engine Any ideas what to try? Thanks, Rich

I updated my firmware to 3.3.5 and linked my fanlinc to my system and went to set options and unchecked led backlight but my led's do not go off. I've tried checked and unchecked. the system is communicating with the fanlinc because I can turn it off and on. Also, I had a remotelinc2 buttons linked to the fanlinc before I linked to isy99 and it was lost after I linked. What's the procedure to get the fanlinc linked to isy99, remotelinc2 and keypadlinc? Do I need to do all my programming in the isy99 and not manually link the buttons? I was a little confused on the linking process. Thanks

I installed several new devices and one, a 2486D (6 button) can't be added. The attempt fails with the "failed to identify insteon engine" error. Since the device seems to be operating normally from the keypad, I'm wondering if the address label is wrong. The other new devices have all added and are working with the ISY just fine. Is there a way for an ISY 99i to detect a connected device and report its address? I would really hate to remove and return it if a simple address search could fix the problem. mike

I have 3 lights that I want to come on at sunset and turn off at different times, for each light I have an ON rule, and then path to an off rule with a Wait. The trouble I am having is that they don't always turn the light on at sunset (although I can see that the rules have run). On some days all lights come on perfectly, and others (like yesterday) only 1 of the 3 come on. Any ideas on what could be going on? Here is an example of one of the rules...i moved to this structure from a simple if, then, else

I have "if status of thermostat < 60 degrees" then "send notification to my email". Problem is, it doesn't work. Do I need to get the ISY to make a query first? On a regular schedule? Thanks Starmanj

Is there a way to query the state of a scene, specifically for Insteon devices? A simple on/off or yes/no would work for me. Here is a simple scenario: I have 3 ApplianceLincs that belong to Scene "all on". If the state for all 3 devices is ON, the state for this scene will be YES. If the state for one or more is not ON, the state for this scene will be NO. The same rules would apply for dimmers. There, ON for each device would be defined by their respective target levels (0-100%). Along those lines, is it possible to query the value of VARIABLES (Integers or States)?

Hello, I have been a old school incandescent light bulb person for a long time. With the new year 2013, comes new laws, where 75 watts bulbs will no longer be sold. I'm afraid of change and hear a long list of issues with LED light bulbs, and fluorescent bulbs. (Bad color output, inconscient light output from brand to brand, and humming, flickering, etc, etc) I'm curious if anyone has tried the new SWITCH LED Bulb with Insteon/ISY? http://www.switchlightingco.com/specs.html I like the liquid filled idea. (and resemblance of a incadescent bulb) (This is not a advertisement, as I dont own one). Just wondering if anyone has tried this new bulb with I…
