I have been looking for a way to automatically shut off scenes after a delay while using motion sensors to turn on and/or keep on scenes. The problem I have faced in the past is that using motion sensors in programs as triggers has a noticeable delay when turning on when motion is sensed. Adding motion sensors as a controller to a scene allows for a much more responsive reaction to motion, however, by default motion sensors will turn off on their own delay interval. Up until about 2 weeks ago I was able to access my ISY99IR Pro remotely via HTTPS and IE9. Now, when I try to access the ISY remotely, IE9 (64bit) shows me a page headed "There is a problem with this website's security certificate". It gives me the options to close the web page or continue to this website (not recommended). In the past when I selected "continue to this website", I could get to the ISY. Now, when I select continue to this website, nothing happens. I have tried creating a new certificate, clearing the Java cache, but the result remains the same. I am running Java 1.7. I have installed Google Chrome and I can get to the ISY via Chrome. How can I get …

I have downloaded the american.zip file from the wiki that contains the american.isy file containing programs to import. These programs contain schedule conditions for some common American holidays for the next several years. I'd like to creates some similar program conditions using other programming tools to then import into the ISY. Is there an XML schema available to describe the format of a program import file?

Hi all, I'm a newbie to Insteon and the ISY-99. So far I just love it, but I just can't seem to get my idea to work correctly. I'm not sure if it can be a scene, need to be written as a program, both, or some other way that I haven't learned yet. We have 5 kitchen cans (main) on one dimmer, and a single can (nite) on another dimmer. I also have 2 other dimmers that are virtual 4 ways to the main. Our concept is when the 5 main lights are on/off, the nite lite follows along. When the nite dimmer is pressed, the mains go off and the nite is dimmed down. I have recently seen two errors generated by the iSY 99i (via Homeseer and the iSY plugin): EVNT: ISY Status Event Check: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. and COMM: Parse failure: _52 Can someone explain what these errors mean? Or is there a place to look up error codes from the 99i? Thanks.

Got a program that works just fine - it has a wait loop. If I edit the program and save it, even editing just the comment, is the wait loop interrupted and it terminates the program? I think I'm seeing this behavior but wanna make sure. If so, is there a way around this? Such as put the wait loop inside another program and then call the other program from inside the first program?

I'm on Mac OS 10.8 ISY 99 just bought the Elk Module was logged in and it asked to restart in order to install new module. Did this a few times as the new module wasn't installing. Then I tried to log in and while the admin console comes up the login box no longer does (and no idea if the Elk module was installed) SOLUTION TO LOGIN SCREEN - PLM came unplugged :0 Now the issue is that I can't get the Elk module installed - I follow instructions and when I reopen the device console - still no Elk module Thank you for any suggestions / help

I use the 99i with Homeseer and the HS plugin. I recently upgraded to v3.3.4 and set my logging level to 'ALL', and I noticed that every 25 seconds the iSY is generating the following messages: COMM: Sending command [] EVNT: Event added to queue. Queue size = 1 EVNT: Event removed from queue. Queue size = 0 Should this be happening? Is it some sort of "stay alive' activity that I should not be concerned about? I recently installed 8 devices to control house lighting at my church and it works fantastic. The critical requirements were simplicity and independence from the DMX board (Elation Pro) we use for stage lighting. We accomplished what we wanted and then some (thanks to the ISY I robbed from my house to write some awesome scenes), but it would be really nice if the sound tech could hit 1 button on the DMX board, say for the 'movie' cue, and not only control the DMX stage lights but cue the corresponding scene in House lts which are Insteon-controlled. Greetings fellow ISy'ers, I have a program that runs the HVAC fans to just circulate air every couple hours. With the cooler weather I wanted to automatically disable the program, so I added a line for temperature: The program continues to flag true and execute as it did before. I assumed it would stop once it reads a temp lower than 80 degrees. Am I misinterpreting how that temperature status should function? The AutoCirc routine has no evaluations and can only be called by this program.

Does anyone know if the low battery signal gets sent out only once or continually until the battery is replaced. If continually, at what intervals? What seems to be the average battery life?

Does INSTEON make a chime much like the X10 version?? Trying to upgrade all devices from X10 to INSTEON, cannot seem to locate a Chime ?? Thanks, so far the upgrade is going very well. hi, I hope this gets to the right person. im currently developing an insteon product and am using a 2448a7 as my battery powered rf chip. when I add it to the isy, it says unsupported device. can you add this as a supported device? if you need to know any info on it for adding, please let me know. im hoping this can be done easily so I can continue with product testing. thanks

Installing Christmas decorations and it seems the ISY will no longer control my X-10 outlets, appliance modules etc. I used to have the ISY X-10 add-on software but sold that with my old ISY99i. The module seemed to only add X-10 names to the tree, but without it I could still control X-10, at least I could some time ago. I have a program that I use daily, it watches for an X-10 signal (from and X-10 switch) then runs a countdown timer. That still works. So is X-10 defeated if you don't have the X-10 module or do I have some other problem? Clearly the program that watches for an external X-10 event is still working. I have an X-10 amplifier/bridge. Hi, Just continuing to try and wrap my head around the programming. I have written some very simple programs that check tima and turn on or off my stair lights and my yard lights. The yard light program is working fine but the stair light program is not working. Looking in the program summary, the stair light program is "false" and has never run while the yard light program is "true" and runs at the scheduled time. I am sure I am missing some very basic lesson here. I appreciate the responses. Thanks!

I have an Insteon wall outlet. I have china cabinet light plugged into the outlet. I have repeatedly tried to program one of the buttons on the KPL to operate it and it will not. Am I missing something with the wall outlet device? I can turn on the device by way of the computer but not buy the button on the KPL. Confused.

I'm attempting the initial setup of a new ISY994i. The browser opens, I sign in, and a popup displays that I'm in Safe Mode which, it says, usually results from a defective PLM. The PLM is a brand new Smarthome 2413S, but it did not provide power to the 994i, as it's supposed to. I was previously using a 2414S with a Cortexa controller so tried plugging the 994i into it. I now have power, but it still opens in Safe Mode. I've double checked the connections - can't hardly do it wrong though. What can you advise?

Hi, I've got a room with 9 controlled loads (9 dimmers - either LampLinc, SwitchLinc). I can't get the Keypadlinc buttons B-H, to correctly act as scene controllers for the local 2486D KPL load (V.40 firmware). They always want to turn the load off rather than to the level I've programmed in the ISY. And yes, I've set the proper levels for the scene and for all controllers within that scene. I've done this before with older V.36 Keypadlincs, and it worked fine, but doesn't seem to work with the V.40. ISY software: started with 3.2.6, and then upgraded to 3.3.2. That didn't help. First, before I got the KPL, I had everything working well with a RemoteLinc. …

I just recently noticed that my programs that utilize Network Resources are executing Network Resources that have somehow been shifted by one ID The programs show the desired Network Resource but when actually run use the wrong resource. A program that previously was defined to use a Network Resource in a program whose ID was 72 is now executing Network Resource ID 73. The Network Resources test fine. It took me a while to figure this out since such oddball things were occurring but I was finally able to see that the Network Resource being called was the next one defined. I just received the new Insteon Leak Sensor Model 2852-222. I can't get it to link with my ISY-99. I have activated the LED to blinking and the system appears to find the device and tries to add it to the ISY. In the end it fails with the message - node not added - failed restoring device. The LED is blinking during the entire operation. The sensor is located within a few feet of a PLM and other Insteon switches. I am using 2.8.16. Is this the source of the problem?

I just changed one of my KPL from a 6 button to an 8 button. Everything is working but how do I add the new buttons?Do I have to delete the device and then add it back in to get the other buttons? If so, I would lose all the scenes? Thanks

I'm thinking about buying a Davis weather station (Wireless Vantage Pro2). -If I purchase one of these and the software required to make it a backyard station so it uploads info to weatherbug will it provide enough info to use in calculating evapotranspiration? I have the climate and irrigation modules for calculating evapotranspiration and my closest station is over 10 miles away I'm looking for another way. -What info is required from a backyard weather station or any other station for that matter, to calculate evapotranspiration? Ever since the time change my clock goes to the wrong time...it's always an hour off. I resync it when I come home from work then the next day I notice it is back to 1 hour later. I have the daylight savings time checked. Should I unchecked it or leave it checked? Any other ideas on what could be causing this?
