That is what I'm talking about right there. Why should I supply internet service for someone else device when I invested in my network for me. Same way internet providers want to supply hot spots on your internet service oh no not mine!

If you have the isy with the ir function you can use that to integrate. Or there is a harmony node server which I have not really tried using.

I vote to support Insteon in at least the capacity that is here already. I think a generic node server is a really good idea that could hopefully be just as good as the network resources.

I guess it is comforting that others are having issues also but it looks like the older devices negatively affect other devices.

I have an old Schlage BE469 lock that does not register the unlock and lock command all of the time since upgrading the Z-wave board. I am running 5.3.1 firmware and UI. I think about buying the newer Z-wave plus version but the weirdness I see in the event log makes me think it will still have issues. In the logs below ZW002 is a GE motion switch which is near the door and ZW005 is an Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor 7 ZW187. You will notice when the unlock and lock commands are not logged neither is the open and close function of the door sensor. I would like to hear what other peoples thoughts are on this! I know the triggers work when the app is closed but I just had it closing in the evening when I have been home anyway. If you have Alexa you can have ISY trigger things in that way as long as you set it up to use the direction Alexa can operate it. And just to be clear it is definitely what is sent from ISY that is my problem and it might be that I have something setup wrong.

Level 3 event viewer does not appear to show anything for network resources that I can tell. I do get an error in my error log that I posted in my other thread

I have no problems with the app and you can set timed events in the app. Alexa works with the app but only handles open and close in one direction. After I talked with them and verified they had product they could deliver, shipping went smoothly to the US except they sent a tracking number that I was not able to follow.

I made a program to run the network resource and it does not always operate the blind even though I know the program ran. It also fails testing the network resource some times but not as often as the program fails.

I was wondering if anybody would be willing to create a node server for the Soma Tilt blind controller, I wouldn't ask if Network Resources would work for me. I tried reading all I could find on how to create a node server and I just can not figure it out. https://support.somasmarthome.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026064234-HTTP-API is where the simple GET commands are and the main thing I see that is not covered or maybe changed is the command /set_shade_position/"MAC"/"position" seems to work 100 to -100 with 100 being closed in one direction and -100 closed in the other direction. I tried using network resources to operate it using ISY but it does not work all of the time but putting it into a browser I never had it fail. I have a text document with the commands and what is returned in the browser that I could offer but it has the Mac address so I would rather not post it.

I created the network resource using the WIKI and I will attach a photo of what one of mine looks like. Unfortunately it does not work consistently for me and I have been unable to get assistance to find out why and searching the forum it seems a common thing with the network resources. The commands are in the link I posted above and I changed my mac address to MA in the picture and it seems to work with the : or %3A so I can not give you a works all the time solution.

Ok so I got everything working with the network resource.

I received my Soma Tilt and Connect units. They had a major problem with supply when I was first looking and I contacted them recently to find they would be able to get me what I wanted. I have things connected but I want to make some changes to set it up better. The unit seems to work well with their app but not so well with Alexa because they have closed up, open and closed down which does not seem to be supported in Alexa. There seems to be some support for http commands that I might be able to setup in ISY but I have not tried any of that yet https://support.somasmarthome.com/hc/en-us/articles/360026064234-HTTP-API I will post some more information after I get things working with my abilities to let others know how it is working for me in case someone else might be interested in using them.

Thanks for the help lilyoyo1 for what ever reason going back to 5.0.16C made it work again. I guess I will have to get the 500 board even though I was trying to avoid getting it for my small zwave use.

Thanks but I can not upgrade to 5.3 I have the 300 zwave board. What version should people with the 300 board be using?

Well I found some more time to test things further. I tried deleting the ISY V3 skill and adding it back. I deleted the fan devices and scenes and adding them back. I also tried a lighting scene and I could not adjust that at all either. Alexa only seems to be able to handle on and off for me anymore. If I try setting a scene to a % Alexa says it is not supported same as the speed for the fans added in the portal as a fan device.

I'm on 5.1 for both. This was working fine before and I noticed my Alexa app updated recently so I thought they might have changed something. I did delete in Alexa and rediscover but it did not help. I will have to try deleting in the portal and rediscover but I don't know if I will have time today. I was just curious if others were having trouble because something was changed with an Alexa update. I will report back once I have a chance to mess with it.

Is everyone having problems setting fan speeds with Alexa? I have fanlinc controling my fans and I can no longer set speeds as a fan device or as a scene. I tried high med low and percentages but nothing seems to work anymore.

I contacted UDI sales and they sent the link for upgrade information https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Z-Wave:_Ordering/Assembly_Instructions#Discounts but I asked if the board would be what the Polisy would use when that takes over ISY functions but did not receive an answer. I only have 2 Z-Wave devices so until I'm missing out on features I think I will stay with the 5.1 that I was able to make happen with my 300 board.

I did the update and things went a little flaky on me at first. I had to reinstall Java after the update and the second time starting the admin console because it said there was an issue with the java path. After waking up the battery items they seemed to update fine then I restarted ISY and had to operate the battery items to get status but did not do the Insteon leak detector yet waiting to see if it recovers on it's own . Alexa routines did not want to activate but I think they just recovered on their own in time with me activating them although Alexa was able to control the whole time without issues. My tstat running through the wireless tag node server had issues updating until I eventually hit the update button in the admin console. I don`t know if it is true or not but things seem to take some time to sync up so I would suggest give things a little time after the update before you go chasing things that might sync up on their own.

I would still leave the float to turn it off you can do 2 different timers I'm thinking something like this Float activates program Wait 5 minutes Run pump Float rises and runs another program Wait 2 minutes Turn off pump That should stop the on off that you are seeing and if that runs to frequently you can also have the program only active twice a day or something like that
