  1. I prefer receiving texts rather than using Pushover and UD Mobile; however, it's just my personal preference. Geddy and MrBill are absolutely right when they say texts are unreliable. When they work, they work great for several weeks to a few months. But then they randomly shut down for about 2 weeks or so. For me, Verizon was not working at the end of March and beginning of April, but it's worked fine since then. When I notice the texts not working, I change a variable so that the notifications go to UD Mobile (and texts). When the texts start working again, I change the variable back. My notifications are not critical - just informational. If you do have critical ones, MrBill's suggestions appear to be tried and true. Ross

@photogeek54 Attached is my log from the top of the PG3 web page. I don't really know what I'm looking for; so, I'm sending you the entire log. Sorry if it's TMI. pg3_4-27-2023_103016-PM.zip

@photogeek54 I found it in the non-production store and installed it. I copied my key (api_key) and 32-digit value from the other SolarEdge NS. I started, stopped and restarted several times; however, it says "Disconnected". When I click Restart, it updates the Time Started but then instantly goes to Not Running. When I tried to download the log and log package, it says it was doing it, but there is no file in Downloads. I'm happy to troubleshoot this and I'm sorry I don't have more info. Please feel free to ask anything. @Geddy This NS is in non-production. This topic took a turn (for the better), I'm happy for this and future comments to remain here at least until it's up and running on my end; but, I'll leave that to you. Thank you, Ross

@photogeek54 I went to the non-production NS store but didn't see it. What's the name of the NS? I searched for "solaredge", "solar" and "edge" with no luck. Of course, this from a guy who can't find the milk in the fridge... https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/ Thanks, Ross
  5. @Javi I'm not sure this is the appropriate place for suggestions, but I do have a minor one. I have Android. When I receive a notification in UD Mobile, it shows up in the pulldown menu, the little dot appears on the App Icon and, when I open the app, it shows up on the flag on the middle-bottom. All good. To clear the flag after opening the app, you must click on the notification even if it's staring at you. And, you also have to clear the notification on the pulldown menu. One has to do 2 things to clear it (I hope that makes sense). Seems you should be able to clear it by doing one thing. Going to notifications in the app or by clicking on it on the pulldown menu. When I say "clear", I don't mean delete. I just mean getting rid of the pink dot and the pulldown notification because I've read it. When I receive a text and I click on it in the pulldown menu, it realizes that now I've read it and doesn't keep notifying me that I have an unread text. Or, if I go into the messaging app and read it, it removes it from the pulldown menu. I hope this makes sense and is helpful, Ross
  6. This may not be helpful as I don't know the answer to your question, but there is a workaround. I use the Timedata Node server and you can use If statements with that data. Not exactly the ones you pose, but you can get there either with some math or brute force. - Ross
  7. Thanks Javi. The darker font in the body should be sufficient. - Ross
  8. I'm trying out notifications in UD Mobile and I have a white background (better for my eyes). The subject is a nice-contrasting black font on white; however, the body is a light-gray font on white. It's hard to read. Can the body font color (and size) be changed either in Network Resources or in the app? Can I use HTML to format the message in Network Resources? Thanks, Ross
  9. Ross replied to Ross's topic in ST-Sonos
@bpwwer Thanks for the update. I have no idea what it means which means I'm probably a long way from writing my first NS. @carealtor I can't remember the differences in the 2 Sonos NSs; however, I remember being frustrated with the Sonos NS and was very glad when ST-Sonos came on the PG3 scene. I won't bore you with the details, but I have >50 playlists. I press a keypad button or click a link in a Google Sheet and a state variable changes which triggers Sonos to shuffle and play the playlist. The other NS couldn't do that, if I recall.
  10. Ross replied to Ross's topic in ST-Sonos
@bpwwer Just curious: when is Sonos sending out the notification? Is it while I'm playing music or just before/after? Will you please tell me the time it failed? If you can clip the line that shows the failure, I can look at the log myself in the future. It seems to "become failed" when I'm not using Sonos which is 98% of the day. I can always stop the music via the NS, but sometimes I can't start it due to the failure. I have 2 groups and all of my speakers are in one or the other (Living Room or Office). However, I group them in the Sonos App. My program tells the NS to play a speaker (rather than a group), and since the speakers are grouped via the app, all of those in the group play. Maybe I need to specify the group via programming. BTW, since this might be out of our control, this is a good situation for wanting to create a program to restart the NS once a day! Thank you, Ross

@carealtor Per @bpwwer in another thread, @simplextech has stopped supporting this NS; but Bob is trying to support it and asked for the log the next time it crashed. I'm not sure how often mine fails, but it may do it at regular intervals. It seems like every 3-7 days. I'll note it next time. I don't have any network issues, but I do have intermittent internet issues all-the-time. Perhaps Sonos loses connectivity to its cloud and that causes the NS to fail? This is my only NS (of 8-10) that fails. Regards, Ross

@bpwwer Hi Bob, I came home tonight and my ST-Sonos had failed. Per your gracious request, I'm attaching the log package. After I downloaded the log package, a simple Restart "fixed" it. No hurry necessary and thank you, Ross ST-Sonos_3-28-2023_84229-PM.zip
  13. @DreamerI90 I'm not sure what the pic is of as it doesn't look like the store I go to (maybe that's PG2?). This is the current PG3 Node Server Store: Link. There is a Sonos and an ST-Sonos (the one I use) there. - Ross
  14. @DreamerI90 You didn't ask, but there are 2 Sonos node servers. The ST-Sonos one works great; however, it has to be restarted periodically. Good luck with the transition to IOP, I'm still running ISY/Polisy. I'll probably just jump straight to EISY when the time comes. You may want to verify that you can go to IOP from 5.0.16C rather than upgrading to 5.3.4 first. My understanding is that if your Z Wave device is a 300 series, then you have to stay on 5.0.16C. If a 500 series, you can go to 5.3.4. Ross
  15. @Jimbo.Automates My St-Sonos NS fails about once per week. I've posted log packages on this forum and have DM'd the developer, who, in the past, has been incredibly responsive. However, there's been no word from him for a couple of months. Not complaining, just stating the facts. Therefore, I restart the NS and move on - not that big of a deal for me. However, when my wife wants to play the music and the NS is down, that's when the complaining starts... Ross
  16. It is confusing to me what the current version is of everything. I'm still an ISY/Polisy guy and I haven't been able to update my Polisy for a few months. However, it still works, so I concentrate on other things in my life that need fixing! It would be nice to get a notice "You are on version 1.5. The current version is 6.7. Please update by following these instructions: Link". I recently went on a couple of business trips and couldn't read these forums for about 3 weeks. I don't have time to go back and see if I missed an update or something important. I wrote the following post about 6 weeks ago from what I could glean. It was probably incorrect then and it's definitely incorrect now, but it would be nice if this were posted somewhere convenient and kept up to date: Current Versions EISY PG3x - 3.1.22 EISY IoX - 5.5.5 Polisy PG3 - 3.1.17 Polisy IoP - 5.5.5 994 - 5.3.4 for those using 500 series Z-Wave 994 - 5.0.16c for those using 300 series Z-Wave Thanks, Ross
  17. I completely respect @bpwwer's decision as to what he includes in the node server and what he doesn't. It's his NS that he's selling/providing. I use a few of his NS's and very much appreciate him and them and all the NS authors. If we want something else, we'll need to learn how to create node servers ourselves (and I would like to do that with the SolarEdge API). Regarding the reason for some data, I fall into @smileyw's camp. I also display all kinds of info from my ISY and node servers. Perhaps I don't exactly "do" anything with it; however, it does provide a smile to my face to know the info is right there on the display. Some things that I displayed I eventually did do something with. For instance, my soil temp was just a display until I got the idea to notify me when it got to a certain temp so we can plant certain things in our vegetable garden. I have a very cool display I created in Google Sheets which pulls from various sources including ISY and NS info (weather, temps around the house-pool-soil, forecast, etc.) along with news and even events happening in the sky tonight. My goal is to create a type of Magic Mirror. Just my 2 cents that wasn't requested, Ross
  18. @KConover There are 5 I/O Lincs for sale on eBay right now. Search for "Insteon 2450". Do a factory reset when you get it. Please keep us updated with your progress - I also have too-high awning windows that I'd like to automatically open/close. I appreciate you being the guinea pig. Ross
  19. @alphapenguin Regarding SolarEdge, I don't use the NS that is currently available because it doesn't provide useful information (to me). However, SolarEdge does have other APIs which would be useful to me as an NS, but no NS exists. I'll post a link to a topic at the bottom of this post. If I had that NS, then it would be useful for me to monitor energy usage and set sprinklers or pool filter hours accordingly. Regarding other NSs, I use TimeData which allows me to log variables to a Google Sheet every minute, every hour and 4x/day. Davis Weather which provides my data for my weather station (disables my OpenSprinkler programs if I've had a certain amount of recent rain) OpenSprinkler to interact with my sprinkler system based on weather conditions and when I want. Sonos - I can click the mini-remote to play/pause/shuffle/volume/skip music both or either upstairs/downstairs. OpenWeatherMap so I can text myself the daily forecast. Also turns off OpenSprinkler programs if rain is coming soon (or turns them on if no rain expected). I will soon upgrade my pool system so I can use the iAquaLink NS. I'm also about to use the NSs for Flume and Phillips Hue bulbs. Here's the link to that SolarEdge topic (the API is so simple that I'm going to try to write my own NS; however, I need to learn Python first!). I struck out trying to get anyone on this board to write the NS. I'm happy to answer any questions, Ross
  20. I'm just memorializing the current versions based on what I've gleaned above: 994 - 5.3.4 for those using 500 series Z-Wave 994 - 5.0.16c for those using 300 series Z-Wave Polisy IoP - 5.5.5 Polisy PG3 - 3.1.17 Eisy IoX - 5.5.5 Eisy PG3x - 3.1.22
  21. @Geddy To recap, the latest versions are: 994 - 5.3.4 for those using 500 series Z-Wave 994 - 5.0.16c for those using 300 series Z-Wave 5.5.5 for Polisy and EISY. You then asked what version of PG3 he was using. Is that different from the Polisy version (5.5.5)? If so, what version of PG3 is the latest? Thank you, Ross
  22. @MrBill I assume your program will work with both motion sensors, though? Thanks.
  23. @PB11 There appear to be a few mini-remotes for sale on eBay if you don't find a good substitute.
  24. @bpwwer Thank you for the response Bob. I understand that this node server is not trying to duplicate or replace a monitoring solution. However, SolarEdge has other APIs which do. I mention one in my other topic located here. But my real questions are 1) How do I go about getting a node server to do its magic on one of the other APIs? 2) If I find one on Github, can I use that on a Polisy? or 3) Can I hire someone to create a node server for me? If so, whom? I thought I read on this forum that if a company or service has an API, a node server could be written for it. These are generic questions not really focusing on SolarEdge. I have a ton of ideas for node servers, but I'm just trying to figure out the best way for me to bring them into existence (I still want my Sonos speakers to give a shout out whenever my Padres win!) I'm not ruling out creating them myself, but I'm not a(n adept) programmer. I understand that the home automation angle might not be readily apparent, however, knowing how much my solar panels generated the previous day/month might play into whether the ISY changes the thermostat setting on my air conditioning in the future to compensate. BTW, whomever wrote the topic subject didn't quite capture what I was looking for (they created this topic from a question I had asked in another topic). It really should be: Can I use node servers other than the ones in the PG3 store? And, if so, how? Thank you, Ross
  25. If I have a Polisy, am I limited to the 100 node servers in the store? For example, I have a SolarEdge inverter for my solar array; however, the node server in the store just tells you that the inverter is working - it has no info regarding the amount of electricity being produced. I know that SolarEdge's API provides this info. If I find a node server that meets my needs, can I go out to Github or wherever and load it onto Polisy? Sorry if I'm not using the correct lingo - I'm talking layman-ese here. Is there someone on the site who can be hired to create node servers? Is there a(n easy) way to create them ourselves? Thank you, Ross
