What compromises are there with switching all Insteon to Z-Wave?
For speed I use Insteon motion sensors. Nothing is faster when part of a scene. The ON-Only capability allows a lot of flexibility. My taste for Z-Wave has grown bitter due to the vast variances of quality and functionality of devices. It's not a protocol issue but a device issue from cheap manufacturers.

What compromises are there with switching all Insteon to Z-Wave?
Lutron RadioRA2 or Caseta does not (yet) work with ISY. I have seriously been thinking of writing a polyglot nodeserver for RadioRA2 but I can't justify the expense of the Main repeater for a development project. Someone want to make a donation feel free Also note the RA2 switches/dimmers are much more expensive than Insteon so it is quite an investment but honestly very worth it for serious lighting control. Like I said I moved everything from Z-Wave due to all of the limitations, slowness, reliability and inconsistent behavior. I'm not regretting it at all. Sensors and point of use like power meters still have value to me and are in use.

What compromises are there with switching all Insteon to Z-Wave?
I recently (Jan/Feb 2019) switched all of my lighting to Insteon from Z-Wave. I've left some Z-Wave items not yet replaced or not viable to replace yet. Insteon for lighting and for synchronization is far superior to Z-Wave in every way. Being able to link devices into scenes and activate them in sync is very limited with Z-Wave and most manufacturers have removed "scene" capability from their devices as it's not a common method anymore with a expectation of using programs or events to perform those actions. This leads to a horrible popcorn effect with lighting and even power plugs. I'm replacing several outlets as well with Insteon rather than z-wave plugs so I can add those to scenes for use during the holidays for lighting. My wife always questioned and complained about using Alexa to turn on the decoration lights and it being a popcorn effect of one then the next and next instead of being all at once. No MORE! If for some reason Insteon has issues or ends up not working out for some strange reason then I'll replace lighting with Lutron RadioRA2. Until then I'm happy with the Insteon lighting and options for receptacles. Sensors are iffy but still function better than z-wave. I may replace sensors with zigbee at some point but having to have more wall warts just to route that mesh is not appealing. I have been considering getting an ELK system which would then replace the door/window sensors and probably smoke/co detectors etc etc which would tie in nicely with the ISY. Still contemplating... actually I'm going to post a question about this today. I've left Z-wave for my thermostat's as they are line-voltage and currently I have only found one suitable replacement but it is Wifi and will require development to integrate. Once I determine I've had enough of the z-wave thermostat I may invest in the new Thermostat but considering their individual cost and I need 6 of them that may take more convincing as I don't muck with the thermostat very often and it's managed via programs. My current smoke/co detectors are z-wave. I'm hoping a cost effective and better option becomes available soon. Otherwise I may just forget about those as their only value that I bought them for was to get battery notifications rather than the 3AM chirping... which BTW battery notifications do not work correctly anyways so they are a loss. Other Z-Wave that i have left are point of use power plugs with power meter capability. Those will stay until I get a GEM. Once the GEM is installed those can be removed as they serve no purpose other than power meters. I have a few other power plugs simply to act as repeaters for building out the mesh.

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
Yes it does have at least one USB port as Michel has referenced the use of a USB dongle for Z-Wave options. This same USB option leaves it open to use for ZigBee options as well??? So the larger question is... How MANY USB ports does this box have and how closely spaced are they so as to allow multiple dongles without using extension cables.

PLM is always needed. The DB9 is the traditional serial port connection that connects to the PLM. Interesting to return to the standard DB9 interface over the RJ45 port. I think I like that. However I question the longevity of the Serial PLM over the USB PLM.... With that question at hand @Michel Kohanim are there backup provisions to use a USB PLM? It would be very nice if the new Polisy could use EITHER the USB or Serial PLM... that would be nice.

I think it would be more cost effective and more agile to use an existing USB dongle perhaps an OEM from SiLabs?

It's 50%

Is the Polisy standalone and is it an ISY replacement?
I wouldn't say too simple or unrelated. I think it just hasn't come up or been requested before.... I have a GC somewhere... I may have to take a look and see what it would take to do a nodeserver for it.

Stelpro Thermostat Setpoint Problem
Great. I'll send this over to eK and to Wes at Mobilinc as they have the same problem.

New Polisy which has bluetooth, quesiton
Now what I really want to know.... How is the name supposed to be pronounced???? is it like "Policy" or is it "Police" or "Police-y" come one we now need an enunciation guide!!!

So what is with this Insteon CEO letter?
LOL... I got the letter as well. I don't mind the coupon

What can Polisy do?
There's a Polyglot NS for that https://github.com/jimboca/udi-wirelesstag-poly

HTTP Error
Rebooted what? The ipad's or the ISY? I would agree constant queries are putting unnecessary load against the ISY. The queries were coming from your iPad's....
-
HTTP Error
Those aren't actually errors. I would classify them as debug messages myself. Something (your ipad's) are doing a query against the ISY constantly.

Your ISY’s sidekick now and its destiny in the future.

New Polisy which has bluetooth, quesiton
The vast majority of fans are IR or traditional RF. What fan do you have that's Bluetooth? There are some (Hampton Bay) that are Zigbee. I'm curious as to the intended or foreseen use cases of the BT with Polisy as well. Perhaps a native BT sensor for the presence nodeserver? Perhaps other control use cases implemented by a nodeserver... hmm... possibilities

ZWave Battery Device Status Reporting in Admin Console
This is a general issue across the board with all z-wave controllers I have used/tested. None of them accurately/correctly report battery status reliably across devices. I think this comes from how diverse z-wave devices are and the quality of battery monitoring implemented by each manufacturer. I don't think there's anything UDI can do in regards to this. +1000 to this as battery devices can't be polled/queried and those pop-ups are annoying. To further this battery devices should be auto excluded from the z-wave heal as well. The battery devices are not awake for the heal and the multiple attempts to communicate to get neighbors and update routes for them does nothing but slow the whole process down.

Program Trigger based on Device Button Push?
I learned this a few months ago too... In the ISY a "Control" function is from a device being manually switched on/off/dim or motion or contact sensors being triggered. A "status" is only for programmatic use for if/when the status of a device changes and can be used with a "wait" as the status change can interrupt (stop) a program or reset it and be used like a timer. Hopefully I'm explaining that correctly. If not I'll get shot

Anyone know of a plug in motion sensor?
I would suggest contacting Express Controls to find out the product status. I'll check around as well.
-
Anyone know of a plug in motion sensor?
No experience with them myself however. The vendor is "Express Controls" and these units are sold as EzMultiPli http://expresscontrols.com/products

Ahh... So this is actually what you're looking for? https://shop.homeseer.com/collections/sensors/products/homeseer-hsm200-z-wave-multi-sensor?variant=23364824134

Doorbell cameras that integrate with ISY
Good Luck. The cheaper units are locked to their eco-system. Amazon now owns Ring and will not even respond to partner requests so the only integration possible are from hacks that people have done. Nest is the same with Google controlling them. The generic "other" systems are hit or miss and you're on your own entirely with those. If you find something that is of decent quality and has an open api or integration program let me know.

Recommendations for my non-tech wife
As mentioned it seems Agave is popular for Android currently. The new Mobilinc X works with Android if you already pay for the Mobilinc Connect subscription then it may make sense. I'm currently testing/evaluating eKeyPad Pro. My use case is different as I plan to use it for installs but I also will use it at home and for my wife as well. eK Pro only runs on iOS though so it does not meet your requirements there. However it meets the requirements of having a simple, straightforward user interface and allows me to configure and lock the interface to prevent inadvertent changes.
