That's going with Control4 switches/dimmers of their ZigBee implementation? I'm pretty ignorant of Control4 as I don't have a system to muck around with yet...working on it...looking for a system to muck with as I don't want/need to pay the install or monthly fees for a test/dev system.

Ok so you're using the ISY with RTI... ok. From the way I read it the first posting was you used ISY with Control4 and using the logic within ISY instead of Control4 which made no sense to me So a Lutron -> ISY integration would be of Interest?

4 or 8 can be done with the SmartenIt input relay sticking with Insteon. If still supported? Not sure others can chime in. If you want z-wave there's other options available or a full DIY with a Z-Uno

Doesn't Control4 offer the conditional logic above the RadioRA2 layer? Caseta Pro hub integrates with the same telnet interface. At that point the lights are just another device under Control4. Are you now using Control4 on top of ISY/Insteon then? Are you using the ISY for control logic and not Control4?

Michel, Good to know the cause and solution. I would think HAD would be corrected as that's builtin/provided by UDI? I'll work with eKeyPad to get that corrected on their end.

Exactly! Having lots of choice is good and sometimes bad as then there's the work of ensuring things actually will work together well and not bubble gum and duct tape The issue with too much choice is the cleanup involved from the too much DIY

Individually the lighting control of Lutron is great. Add in the other pieces of home automation and Lutron does not provide all of the pieces. Thermostat? Yes if you have Central A/C if not then you're out of luck I/O Interfaces? Yes with RA2 but not the lower end Caseta Integrated Fan/Light? No. Lutron still does not offer that for RA. Only available with Maestro switch Budget? Have lots of money for a Smart Home... Great!... Lutron it is along with RTI, URC, Control4, etc etc (BTW most C4 gear is ZigBee)... if not? But you still want quality? The area I work with is not a very wealthy area to begin with but there are more middle-class that want Smart Home setups beyond voice control or mobile app to turn a lamp on/off. The flexibility of ISY and other controllers with programming/integration makes a strong combination. The current weak link is user interface... People like to see status and touch things for control especially touchscreens that make it "modern". Now I did not say I was installing Z-Wave for lighting

I'm in contact in eKeyPad and I have an iPad on order (arriving tomorrow). Once I get it and I load up eKeyPad I'll get back to you. My interest is a simple to deploy and use solution that is still powerful with customization options that I can then use with customers. A benefit in the marketing of eKeyPad is the ability to remotely manage and to lock the configuration to prevent tampering of configurations. This is a huge plus for a managed deployment or for rentals in your case where you probably do not want the tenants to change the configuration and break things.

That's what it looked like. Funny I looked through their Wiki and there was a 3rd party plugin for HomeSeer 2... old but still funny. I've done the total custom work with HS Touch for HomeSeer before and it's a painful process the same with Home Remote which is easy to work with and free but still the whole from the ground up approach is extremely time consuming.

I went and looked at Command Fusion and it looks very powerful. Just like HS Touch Designer and Home Remote. Powerful, Capable, LOTS OF WORK. Do they have integration modules already for ISY or only their own system and then I would have to build the module for ISY?

Apps are the most useful for those that live on their phone. In my instance I'm looking for a Dashboard Console. I want a tablet system that will be stationary which is why I'm looking at eKeyPad. It's to replace a traditional security keypad setup but with added benefit of having camera feeds and home status right there. This is a small thing that sets things apart and makes the "awe" factor. Now in a few months of use the "awe" factor fades as any "new toy" gets old and it just becomes "normal"... IF and ONLY IF... it works all the time as expected. The challenge has been an "App" that just works and doesn't break on every Android update that gets pushed or the next Alexa Skill or Google update etc.

I think the direction has been set with Mobilinc X which is a redesign of the interface and it looks very nice. For me though I don't want to give up features or trade off features for another set of possible features (ISY Portal vs Mobilinc Connect) and them being completely isolated of one or the other I don't like that. If Mobilinc X provides the same feature capabilities on par with ISY Portal AND THEN SOME... then it becomes worth it. The costs would have to be very similar as well as the Mobilinc X and Agave monthly pricing and then Family pricing... not a big fan of that. I've ordered an iPad to give eKeyPad Pro a full spin and I'll see where I land.

@bmercier, it's been a while but I ran into this issue with Agave a couple months ago and I just now tried testing this again. No rush on this as it's almost summer, but I'd like to plan for fall/winter to determine if this will be fixed/resolved especially with mobile/tablet app usage as I have plans for installing some tablets around the house this summer. UDAjax - control works fine with the drop down and the heating setpoint is set correctly. HAD - you can click and set the temp but afterwards it automatically jumps the temp to the max setpoint 86F. The issue with HAD I think is also affecting Agave and probably other interfaces as they exhibit the same issue. [EDIT] Just tested with eKeyPad ISY and same issue of any setPoint change jumps the thermostat to 86F

I'm also curious if/when the Insteon Siren will be supported or not. I was thinking of buying a couple while on sale.

You can run the ISY with Insteon and Z-Wave OR ZigBee at the same time. However the ISY ZigBee is really only useful for connecting to power meters (utility power meters) which "standard" ZigBee does not do. ST does Z-Wave and ZigBee ZHA. The only gain you get from ST is the ZigBee. However because ST is mostly cloud based all communications must go out to the cloud to ST then back to your ISY all through the cloud requiring a good internet connection ALL the time. Hubitat is essentially a ST "clone" that provides good Z-Wave and ZigBee capability and a ton of the device handlers from ST have been ported to Hubitat already. I wrote a nodeserver specifically for Hubitat to utilize the ZigBee capabilities from Hubitat from the ISY. You can use the Z-Wave also but why when the ISY can already handle the Z-Wave on it's own. The flip side is you could have an ISY with ZigBee for power meter use AND connect Hubitat to then also have Z-Wave and Zigbee ZHA..... That combination gives you everything from the ISY. Downside is that nodeservers are not well supported by the mobile apps (Agave/MobiLinc) at the moment. This will probably change as I post this out of curiousity... why are you writing it ZeeWave?

ISY does not support ZigBee ZHA profile devices. There currently is no NodeServer to integrate ST directly. I have produced a Hubitat NodeServer which does integrate the Hubitat hub with ISY for devices. The current devices supported are limited because I do not posses every possible device. If you chose to get a Hubitat hub and use that nodeserver then I can work with you to include device support.

The Z-Wave connection will not allow the depth of interaction you are looking for and it's ONLY for Z-Wave devices. The typical usage of the master/slave controller is to allow the master controller visibility/control of the slave controllers Z-Wave devices. This is generally used in a migration scenario of being able to bulk add the devices from a previous controller to a new controller and then shifting the Master role to the new controller making it the Z-Wave network ID Owner.

I don't think Insteon is going anywhere anytime soon. As for the hardware failures I see that with z-wave devices as well. So I don't think it's a Insteon only thing about quality control or anything. I had a HomeSeer switch just fail intermittently and it was only a couple months old. Depending on devices, QA, build issues at the time of production run etc etc there are many things and as these are electrical devices + moving parts + exposed to surges, brown outs, etc (excluding those with whole house system protections) I think it's quite amazing that the devices last for years in general terms. If anything I think Insteon needs to do a better QA to prevent DOA devices as I've received a DOA fanlinc out of an order of 3 which isn't a great ratio. But again I've also received DOA components out of z-wave orders.....
