There are no "Insteon" cameras in that none of them speak Insteon. You can however have your ISY control some aspects of many cams via the network module. I do this with my Foscam PTZ IP Cams to control where the cam is pointing based on other Insteon events. It's possible that some cams may be able to initiate events in the ISY using the rest interface but I have not seen any that are capable yet. There are some cameras that have dry contact IO that can be triggered by motion, those could be interfaced to Insteon through an IOLinc or similar Insteon IO module. -Xathros

I really think it might be worth giving Firefox or Chrome a try. You can always delete the app later if you don/t want to keep it. -Xathros EDIT: Also have a look at this thread. It may get you going again with Safari. http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=12505&start=30

Can you try with Firefox or Chrome? I'm using Firefox 28 on Mavericks 10.9.2 and backups are working for me. -Xathros

Anytime. Happy to help. Sorry about the omission on my first response. -Xathros

Hehe - Yep. Sorry - Missed a step: If Status Dimmer is Off And Control Dimmer is not Switched Off Then Set Dimmer On Else

Wireless should not be a problem from a communications standpoint as long as your chosen location is withing usable range of your WiFi. Battery powered may be a bit of an issue however. Newer cameras are fairly low power but short of having a car battery for the source, I think the draw would still be too high for smaller batteries to perform for more than a few hours. -Xathros

Hi rrathke- Try something like this: If Status Dimmer is Off Then Set Dimmer On Else Hope this helps. -Xathros

Not sure about the LED. My 994 is a ZWave model not Zigbee. How many rows of pins were on the connector for the daughter board 1 or 2? If only 1 then the board needs to be installed into the bottom row of the 2 row socket in the ISY. If the daughter board has 2 rows of pins then it is installed so that both rows of pins are into both rows of the socket. It is possible that you need a Zigbee module installed into the ISY firmware similar to the Pro, Zwave, Weather etc modules. If that is the case, you will need to email support@universal-devices.com with the UUID of your ISY, a link to this thread and request that they enable the module for your ISY. -Xathros

Did you clear the java cache after installing the ZS firmware? -Xathros Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not a genius, just an old timer... But thanks. Glad that got it working for you -Xathros

I have a few of these that have been problematic especially when there have been power outages. Usually, pulling the air gap switch for 10 seconds then returning to the normal position gets them working again. When pushing the air gap switch back in, be careful not to push it past flush as that may cause a factory reset. -Xathros

In my 5 years with the ISY, I have not had any major issues with beta firmwares and I have run almost every one of them since the 2.x days. That said, part of the upgrade process is making a backup of the ISY before the upgrade is installed. In the event you find an issue that you can't live with in the newer firmware, you simply downgrade the firmware to your previous version and restore your backup. -Xathros

Can be multiple controllers in a scene. A controller is also a responder. -Xathros Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That is the node number. Many devices such as a dimmer or on/off switch only have one node. Others like Keypads and Motion Sensors have multiple nodes (Motion, Dusk/Dawn, Low Batt for MS or Keys 1-8 for a keypad). That last digit identifies the node within the device. -Xathros

The idea is to catch the random event in the log and hopefully see the cause. -Xathros

Hi ferdies- Can you run your event viewer at level 3 and attempt to catch one of these events. Post the relevant sections of the event trace after an event occurs. -Xathros

I'm thinking the digital IO on a CAI Webcontrol board or Raspberry Pi might be more cost effective and easier to implement here. Do you really need relay contacts to drive the TTL decoders? Use the ISY network module to talk to the controller. -Xathros

Venstar with Insteon integrated/external Insteon adapter or a ZWave TStat. The latter requires the ISY ZWave dongle and module. I would avoid the Smartlabs native Insteon TStat for the time being as it appears to have some issues that have proven to be a challenge for many here. -Xathros

Add ISY-99 to exception list with Java 1.7.51+ With the advent of Java 1.7.51 and up, Java applets are now required to contain a manifest file. Those that don’t are now not allowed to run unless you make a security exception for the applet. UDI has released newer firmware (4.1.2) that includes a manifest file and meets the new requirements. The ISY-99 series is not receiving firmware updates after firmware 3.3.10 as it has run out of room for the larger code in the newer firmwares. If you have decided not to upgrade to the ISY-994 series controllers, you will need to work around the new Java requirements and add an exception for your ISY-99i. Here is how to make that exception. MAC: Open System Preferences and double click the Java icon. In the Java preferences, click the security tab. Click “Edit Site List†Click “Add†and enter the URL for your ISY. Acknowledge the warning that this poses a security risk by clicking “Continue†Click “OK†then “OK†and close the Java preferences window. Windows: Open the Windows Control Panel Double click the Java control panel applet. Click the Security tab Click the “Edit Site List…†button. Click the “Add†button and enter the URL for your ISY-99i series controller. Click “OK†and close the Windows Control Panel†This should get you back up and running until you can upgrade to an ISY-994 and the newer firmware.

Sounds like the local on level has be set at the switch. From the manual: Local On-Level Default = 100% (fixed brightness) The local on-level is the brightness that SwitchLinc’s connected load will come on when turned on at SwitchLinc paddle Local on-level can be set to any one of 32 fixed brightness levels (3% to 100%) or “resume bright†(brightness prior to last being turned off) To set local on level to a fixed brightness level 1) Adjust SwitchLinc to desired brightness when controlled locally 2) Tap Set button SwitchLinc will beep 3) Test by turning SwitchLinc off and then back on (via the paddle) SwitchLinc will turn on to new local on-level To set local on level to the brightness level prior to being turned off 1) Turn SwitchLinc off 2) Tap Set button SwitchLinc will beep 3) Test: a. Brighten SwitchLinc to a random brightness level (e.g. 75%) b. Turn SwitchLinc off c. Turn SwitchLinc back on Light will turn on at the defined brightness level -Xathros

Another thing to note: The ISY will only send option changes to a device if the options are different than what the ISY believe are already in the module. Try a different combination of settings, save, then set the way you want and save again. See if there is any traffic generated during those operations. -Xathros

Sorry, I missed this one. There is a bit of programming involved depending on what you want to accomplish with the lock set. Nothing more complex than working with Insteon devices however. I have a few programs to secure my locks at night or when my occupancy timers expire and to write log entries when the locks are unsecured by access code or from the inside. This is one of my programs that gets called from my Secure Perimeter routine: If Status 'Basement / Basement Door Lockset' is Bolt Postion Unknown Or Status 'Basement / Basement Door Lockset' is Unlocked Then Set 'Basement / Basement Door Lockset' Secure Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') -Xathros

It is still in beta but I believe it can be purchased direct from UDI. Contact sales@universal-devices.com and I'm sure they will help get you started. -Xathros
