  1. I have a KPL button that enables/disables ISY control. Button Lit = Wife override - Button Off = ISY in control. ISY Control started as a basic schedule and evolved as track occupancy and since I took control of my pellet stove and gained access to outside temp. A basic schedule for setback is where I would start and add on from there as your skills and needs dictate. -Xathros

Can you be more specific as to wat you want to do? Ill see if I can post an example to match.
  3. In a browser: http:///rest/nodes should return a list of all nodes including their group numbers. -Xathros
  4. 50' is a generally accepted maximum for a serial interface but recommended is far less. Mine is 10'. You can however move the ISY with the PLM keeping them together and extend the ethernet uplink much further. BUT, I think you misunderstood my suggestion. What I meant was: Use an AC extension cord. Unplug the PLM from power and plug it into the extension cord then plug the other end of the extension cord into an outlet on the same circuit as the problem KPL(s) for the duration of the reprogramming. -Xathros
  5. I would go the IP / Network resource route. Depending on the arduino's response time, I would expect you could get very near real time responses unless the ISY is very busy with other tasks at the time. I would be interested in what you have sourced for the roller shades as I am also considering building my own. -Xathros
  6. Put the PLM on a long extension cord and plug it into the affected circuit for the updates. -Xathros

In that dialog, "Recipients" is the only column header and does kinda sorta look like an elongated rectangular button. Dunno if its possible in the Java GUI to indicate sort Ascending/Descending with Up/Dn arrows on the column headers like in some other environments but if it is, that may help to clarify the purpose of that header. If there is a hidden ID# assigned to each recipient line, revealing that as another column like program or mvar ID's may make the headers more recognizable as headers. Also changing "Add" to "Add Recipient" may help steer new users toward the correct target. I do have to say however, it took me a few re-reads of that post to find the error as I just always assumed that "Recipients" was just a column header and being that I've never had more than 2 recipients in that dialog, I had never felt the need to click it to sort before. In any event, that error message needs to be changed to "That was Easy!" unless Staples has that trademarked. -Xathros
  9. Or you didn't look at the very bottom of the tree after you added. New scenes/folders appear at the very bottom initially until a restart of the console or a re-sort of the tree. -Xathros
  10. arw01- Are you certain that both the subject and body fields have content? If either are blank it won't send. -Xathros
  11. Awesome! Glad I could help. -Xathros
  12. Hi Bill- Anything in your error log related to datafeed.weatherbug.com? -Xathros
  13. eric_allman- Try this: If Status FireFanSense is On and Status OtherFans is Off Then Set Other Fans On If Status FireFanSense is Off Then Wait 20 seconds Set OtherFans Off Sense has to remain off for 20 seconds before reacting. -Xathros
  14. Just last night, I swapped 3 Toggleinc relays with 2 Dualband Switchlinc Relays and one Dualband Switchlink Dimmer. Used the replace function for the relay to relay swaps. First worked like a charm. Relaunched the console and started the second which replaced the device in all the scenes then failed to edit the programs - popped upt with a socket error , after which the console became unresponsive. Had to quit/relaunch the console and edit the programs manually which leads me to a suggestion: Is it possible to add to the Find list for Find/Replace ? Luckily, this switch was only referenced in maybe 5 programs so it wasn't a tough recovery. As for the Relay -> Dimmer transition, I made the scene changes manually and did a Find/Replace for the program changes. Easy enough to replace would have been a bit easier. And lastly, just out of curiosity, what is the reason for closing the console at the end of a Replace process ? -Xathros
  15. Not as fully convinced now but we have not ruled it out yet either. Next time this occurs, Connect to the ISY via the LAN and check Help / About for the internet access line and see what that says when it's not working. -Xathros
  16. I understand but, the fact that the ISY continues to accept local connections, the static ip hasn't changed and ISY is otherwise functioning normally once you take the NAT router out of the way, tells me that the failure is upstream somewhere. Rebooting the ISY may just be correcting a failure in the router when the ISY reconnects at startup If you are not using the UPnP function in the router for anything else, try disabling that and see if the problem goes away. What model Linksys? Latest formware for that router? You could also try rebooting just the router instead next time and see if that fixes it as well. -Xathros

I suspect the first 5 minute wait is to ensure you are past the traffic from the big 3am query. I would think 5 seconds would be sufficient for the second wait. -Xathros
  18. djones1415- The fact that it continues to work over the LAN leads me to suspect your router. Does Mobilinc also work when on the LAN during one of these episodes? How is the ISY's IP configured? Static? Based on MAC reservation in the router or configured in the ISY Admin console? What is the router? Does it do UPnP and if so, is that enabled in the router? -Xathros
  19. I believe that mismatch is not an issue. That record starts with a 00 which I believe indicates the end of the link database on the device. The ISY does not maintain a matching end of list record (it simulates one like 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 instead) and thus the mismatch. Only the first 00 is required on the device for end of list and the remaining old data is useless/ignored. Since the ISY's simulated version does not contain this old data you get a mismatch. Are state changes now showing in the admin console before creating any scenes with the affected devices? It looks like you now have the necessary controller record in the device. -Xathros
  20. I have a "Control event detection" routine as part of my occupancy programs. This is exactly how it works. Lots of If Control Switched..." statements ored together. Nasty to look at but seems to function just fine. I have two lines for most switches (On/Off) and four lines each for a few dimmers that see fade up/down regularly. -Xathros
  21. What exactly does this mean: Tue 2013/03/12 10:47:27 AM System -170001 [uDSockets] HTTP:28 error:6 Tue 2013/03/12 12:26:49 PM System -170001 [uDSockets] HTTP:32 error:6 Tue 2013/03/12 12:26:54 PM System -170001 [uDSockets] HTTP:32 error:6 Tue 2013/03/12 12:26:59 PM System -170001 [uDSockets] HTTP:32 error:6 Tue 2013/03/12 12:26:59 PM System -170001 [uDSockets] HTTP:33 error:6 Wiki shows -170000 as "Web Module - No Free Space". I have nothing on the web server at the moment and as far as space goes, System Status says 860MB free. Thanks. -Xathros

I am having a different but similar problem that I am convinced is a multiple message problem. I have a RL2 in my car that I use to turn toggle outside lights or set away/vacant modes in the house as we are leaving. Recently, my lights started to turn on then about a second later back off almost every time I used the RL2 button when outside of the garage. From outside the garage, the RL2 is able to reach an access point in the garage and a new Dualband SLR for my front porch lights. This problem started when I added the SLR. If I airgap the front porch SLR the problem stops. Adding a 2 second wait as the first line in my then "fixed" the symptom by ignoring the cause. I realize this is different from the IOLink query double response issue reported here but I fully believe the underlying cause is the same - duplicate messages treated as valid messages. -Xathros
  23. oberkc- I agree with your assessment of the above and that is the behavior I would expect. I only use this for the situation where the device is switched on when it is already on or off when already off so the quick true before false is not a problem in either of those cases. -Xathros
  24. See this documentation for the ISY: http://www.universal-devices.com/developers/wsdk/4.0.2/ISY-WSDK-4.0.2.zip Look at the REST interface in ISY-WS-SDK-Manual.pdf -Xathros
  25. gadgetguru69- Cool. Looks a lot like the CAI web control but industrialized. I see no DIRECT way of enabling data to pass from the EDS unit to the ISY. It would require a middleman to query the EDS sensor data and post to the ISY using the /REST interface. That is exactly what the CAIWC program does for me between the CAI board and my ISY994. I'm running CAIWC on a Pogoplug with Archlinux. Others are running the same on the Raspberry PI. Both are good low power solutions but either will require some coding to get this working for you. I currently have 3 DS1822 sensors wired to my CAI board reporting temps to the ISY as well as 3 CT switches reporting status/runtime of washer/dryer and oil burner. Still have a bunch of inputs available for more temp sensors (3 of 8 used), TTL inputs (3 of 8 used), Humidity (1 of 1 unused) and a few analog inputs (don't remember the specs on those off hand). CAIWC updates the ISY as soon as anything changes on any of the monitored inputs. Also, I believe that a newer version of the CAI board firmware can post some data directly to the ISY now without the Pogo/Pi middleman. -Xathros
