Hiya, Use Firefox. Safari automatically unzips files, Firefox does not. Cheers! Hi to_lighter, Thanks for the note about Firefox not automatically unzipping. Good information. To prevent this behavior in Safari: 1. Go to Preferences->General 2. Remove the check mark from "Open 'safe' files after downloading". Thanks to Drosen for providing this information.

Release 2.6.13 beta is now available
Algorithm replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
I manually changed it to 8 button mode and put an 8 button button plate on it. When you press the A button only that one lights in the upper left corner in toggle mode and not the A&B as would in 6 button mode. Instead of "Start Linking" I tried "New Insteon Device" and noticed that there isn't a model number for an 8 button Relay. Actually Smarthome doesn't appear to sell an 8 button relay, you have to but a 6 button one and chant it and the faceplate. I wonder if that has something to do with it? Yes, I believe you are correct that one must buy a six-button KPL and an eight-button conversion kit; that is what I did. Here I have several KPL Relays in eight-button mode, working fine with ISY on 2.6.13; I don't recall which firmware version was running when I added them to ISY. They are all 2486SWH6 manually factory reset and set to eight-button mode with ivory eight-button change kit before linking (reported by ISY as 2486S/WH6), v1.0 (version) reported by ISY as v.31 (firmware). -
Hello CompKing, Thanks for the confirmation. I noticed this as well, and reported it to Michel. I'm sure this bug will be squashed .
-
Hello Compking, Yes, that was an intentional design decision; the main load button is shown, but the secondary buttons are not. There has been some discussion of this in these forums, and an option may possibly be added in a future firmware version, to allow displaying all buttons.

Rand, Excellent. So very glad to hear that the Light level is actually turning out to be a valuable data point. Yes, most likely some of the more expensive weather stations would provide that, but taking into consideration their cost, there wouldn't really be a cost/benefit ratio. What I may try is using some of the very inexpensive X-10 motion sensors (which have dusk/dawn reporting). They report pretty quickly, so may have to be averaged over a short period.
-
Hi Rand, Good tip. Unfortunately, none of the reporting stations for my location have the missing data I'm looking for; I'm not sure whether this is true of all Canadian stations or not, but would be interested in hearing from others. Do keep us updated as to how well the Light data works out for you.

The W800RF32 (brother to the V572RF32) does receive the security codes (as well as regular X-10 codes), but sends all codes out the serial port, rather than over the power-line. You would need a device with a serial port and the smarts to decode the signal, then communicate it to the ISY (Ethernet?).
-
Hi, Assign a Static IP Address.
-
Yes, ON is 100% (OFF is 0%), so ON is > 90% and the condition is True. 90% is NOT > 90%, so the condition is False.
-
Rich, The ISY cannot directly receive the codes from the X-10 security devices (DS10A, MS10A, etc.) as they are encoded differently than regular X-10 device signals. You can use an RF receiver (such as V572RF32) which receives both types of X-10 RF signals, and translates the security signals to regular X-10 signals before placing them on the power-line, where ISY can deal with them just fine.

Hi Brian, You could pull the air-gap on those new switches to see if the rest of the network returns to normal. -

Hi Jason, 2.6.8 was, I believe, the first version to offer support for the INSTEON motion sensors. I personally feel 2.6.8 was very stable. -
Hi Geoff, Thanks for the update. It is regrettable that those data points are unavailable. But, I'm glad the module is working for you!
-
Hello Geoff, In response to your message, I just checked my ISY Weatherbug interface. There are 18 reporting stations in and around Calgary that you may choose from.
-
Hi Geoff, Weatherbug Canadian and International Cities. And here's Calgary. Weatherbug works fine in my ISY, and yes I was able to select from a number of nearby stations. While most of the data is available, unfortunately for my location (perhaps all Canadian locations, and possibly even some U.S. locations) some of the data is never available: Temperature Rate, Humidity Rate, Pressure Rate, Rain Today, Light, and Light Rate. I really wanted to be able to use Light, to determine when lights should/should not come on based on actual light level rather than just dusk/dawn (think of a dark, stormy afternoon). And of course Rain! Let us know which of the data are unavailable at your location.
-
Jim, actually the day of the week is also incorrect today--it says Monday instead of Wednesday.
-
When you uncheck On Days you can select individual days. When you uncheck Daily you should get a date selection box. However, might I suggest NOT using the date today, because of the bug described here? Instead, just look for the time being midnight (and remember to disable the program tomorrow).

All ISY's have three ports: one Ethernet port (labeled Network), and two serial ports (labeled Port A and Port B). Port A is always the PLM port, and Port B the administrative port. Port B is always a DB-9 connector. The difference is that on the ISY-99i series, Port A uses an RJ-45 jack (like the Ethernet port, but without the LEDs), and therefore can use a standard Cat5 cable between the ISY and the PLM. On the ISY-26 Port A uses a DB-9 connector, and therefore requires the DB-9 to RJ-45 cable that is included with the PLM. Port B is also the serial port to be used by the future serial expander device.

Hello Wayne, Run Then and Run Else are fairly self-explanatory; they run the code in the Then clause or the Else clause, respectively. Run (If) evaluates the If clause and runs either the Then or the Else clause, depending on whether the If is True or False. If the If clause is empty, then the Then clause is run.

Hello Pete, and welcome to the forum. Yes, it does make very good sense to add additional text to the notifications. This is an oft-requested feature, and it shall be added, though I'm not sure in which version.

Hi Rob, As Mike said, a Restore Device will get rid of the link if it is not in ISY's copy of the device's link database. However, I'm wondering how this link came to exist in the first place. As far as I know, 62 is not a valid initial value for a link. The first byte of every link should be E2 (controller), A2 (responder), or 22 (deleted). [Doing a Restore Device will compact the database and remove deleted entries.]

Hello non-frustrated geek! That sounds so much better! It was my pleasure, and thanks so very much for the kind words. They do mean a very great deal to us!
-
Lou, do the lights remain on in that condition? Also, are the RJ-45 (Network jack) LEDs on? That is not a known state, which surely means something is amiss. See this wiki article, near the bottom of the page, for a list of valid LED status indications. Have you rebooted by unplugging the PLM from power? (Or are you using a power adapter?) Is the PLM LED on, and what version is your PLM?
-
Hello RF_Burns, What does the KPL identify itself as in the ISY Administrative Console, and what is your ISY firmware version (Help->About)?
-
Hello 23, Dave was correct. Simply use the same port (eg. 40443) for both the external and internal port, and then telnet to ISY and configure it to use that port for its https port (but not for its http port). If you need assistance configuring ISY, don't hesitate to contact us. Regardless of the internal port used, the external port specified in the port forward rule (if not 443) will need to be appended to the URL when you access ISY from the Internet: https://your.exernal.ip.address:portnumber.
